Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra might be considering his managerial options however, who on earth started the crazy 'Luis Felipe Scolari will replace Sven-Goran Eriksson' rumour?
Fact
Boxing Day 2006 Scolari told a Portuguese sports newspaper that he would be ending his term as coach of Portugal after Euro 2008...
'It is logical that at the end of Euro 2008 I leave when my contract ends. The work of a coach is limited to five or six years.'
'We are already in this time frame but after that, things become more difficult because they create habits and links with the players, which can result in things deteriorating.'
Various British Tabloids reported...
'Scolari remains tight-lipped about his future, but it appears Manchester City's chances of capturing him to replace Sven-Goran Eriksson are slim as the Brazilian is reluctant to move away from Portugal.

An obscure football internet site published the following...
'Last week Scolari said he 'knows nothing' of the purported interest from the Premiership club.'
'However, in today's edition of Portuguese sports daily, Record, it is reported that the World Cup winning coach has been offered a 4m euros a year contract, which is practically ten times his current salary paid by the Portuguese Football Federation.'
'Former Thai Prime Minister and multi-millionaire Srisumri (note the spelling) has also promised the coach a transfer kitty of over 75 million euros as he attempts to turn the club into a force to be reckoned with in England.
Rumours
Rumours sell newspapers, especially when the name Manchester City, Thaksin Shinawatra and Luis Felipe Scolari are mentioned in the same breath. And why not?
The Barclay Brothers have made a mint in the publishing business, so much so they bought their very own island just a stones throw from Sark (Guernsey - Channel Islands).
Moreover, if that wasn't enough, savouring in the wonderful tax haven the Channel Islands offer, they even build their very own castle - ta-boot!
If City fans really believe everything they read in the national press, (which I doubt) then may I suggest they ask themselves the following question?
On Sunday May 5 Vital Manchester City asked fans, 'Who will replace Sven'? To catch up with the latest poll results, click here.
