FA Cup Or Champions League Final?

On Saturday May 17 Portsmouth take on Cardiff City in this years FA Cup Final, while four days later Manchester United face Chelsea in the first ever all England Champions League Final. Out of the two, which one, if any, floats your boat?

FA Cup Final

Every football fan worth their salt knows the FA Cup is steeped in tradition whereby fans from all 92 league clubs and non-league sides alike dream of a once in a lifetime decent cup run. Well over 100 countries worldwide take the game live while another 150 show extended highlights.

Champions League Final

The European Cup, now known as the Champions League is a cup competition featuring Europe's co-called football elite. Winners, of domestic leagues, runners up, and if you just happen to come from the Premier League, third and fourth placed clubs enter the competition at various stages.

TV companies pay billions in TV rights, and why not? Many pundits suggest the Champions League is beginning to challenge the World Cup, especially when it comes to revenue. Every year, rather than every four, spectators around the globe witness some of the best players the world has to offer, apply their trade.

As an English man and a football fan, the FA Cup Final stirs emotions, (not matter who plays), like no other cup competition. The occasion, atmosphere and passion suppress all else, however, I like many others are beginning to waver.

How many of the so-called top four English clubs prioritise the FA Cup over the Champions League. I would suggest not a single one. Why, well just look at the respective finalists.

So what is it to be...

I'd disagree with your last paragraph - lppk back over recent years and see just how many times someone outside of the top four has not won the FA Cup!
