Proud To Be English

Proud To Be English

Forget xenophobia, forget rivalry, forget negativity, and just remember two Premier League clubs (Manchester United & Chelsea) have reached the Champions League Final, and dare I say it, totally on merit.

Wednesday night's final in Moscow will be the first ever whereby two English clubs battle it out to become champions of Europe. Millions of TV viewers from all over the continent will be glued to their screens desperate to see some of the worlds best players turn on a spectacular display worthy of their so-called status.

I for one will be cheering on the team that displays the most flair, charisma, charm and talent, nevertheless, may I say I am proud to see two teams from England represent the Champions League Final and say with hand on heart - I'm proud to be English.

Good luck Manchester United and Chelsea and may the best team win.

Signed

Trouble is teams aren't English or British anymore, so I find myself more and more at a loss supporting Brits abroad!

I still support any English team in Europe, but I must say and agree with what you say, The Fear, teams from England are not so English as once they were. Oh well, times are a changing - diversity an all!!

Personally Wednesday will be a black day for me, as a team that I detest will be crowned Champions of Europe! I hate both teams for different reasons. I'd have been happy to see Arsenal or Liverpool win it, but I'd rather have ANYONE else in Europe than Chelsea or ManUre!

Whilst i would like to agree i can't. These 2 teams have spent the most money and rode there luck. How anyone could say that the Barcelona games were entertaining is beyond me. The champions league to me is gravy train for the rich, and any copation that Liverpool can win has to be weak. As said by Ghost of 76 the only team with respect from England is Arsenal which is ran like a football club. Pity there arn't more English players tho...

I nail my colours to that famous Noel Gallagher quote: "My favourite goal of all time is any goal, scored anywhere, by anyone against Manchester United."
