'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martin Petrov Voted Sven's Best City Signing

Our latest Vital MCFC Poll saw Martin 'Rigsby' Petrov race away with the honour of being voted SGE's best signing...

We can be thankful for the flying winger's pace and threat, if not his occasional hand on hips 'it's all going wrong' mardy arsed demeanour as we look back upon a season that has had some equally magic and tragic moments.

The votes certainly reflect how hit and miss a three to four week transfer berserker can be. Take note, Thaksin. We can ill afford a repeat this summer...

Sven's Best Signing:

Petrov 40%

Corluka 25%

Elano 17%

Gelson 11%

Geovanni 1%

Castillo 1%

Benjani 1%

Caicedo 1%

Bojinov 1%

Bianchi 1%

Garrido 1%

ha ha, Rigsby, that's a great spot, he's the spitting image, right down to the hands on hips!
Ghost of 76
Nice one, Ghost! Some of his pulling out of tackles that were 90% in his favour did my head in as well. Top rumour reaching Vital MCFC's manor is one of all Blue hell breaking loose next week. Tuesday is being talked up. Stay tuned.
Johnny Baguette
You can't tantalise us like that Johnny! give us a clue! Hope it's not the rumour I heared, which I dismissed as 'ridiculous' !?
Ghost of 76
Okay, Ghost. You heard it here first. City is to be sold again. Due diligence has been under way for weeks. Thaksin has seen his reputation damaged and wants out. Financially unable to continue. The incoming consortium will see Noel Gallagher installed as Chairman. The board will consist of Johnny Marr, Badly Drawn Boy, Billy Duffy with Mark E Smith as Chief Executive. Liam Gallagher will be installed as Manager with Ricky Hatton his assistant. They will batter any player who underperforms and any opposition player or official who is having it for that matter. The Doves will take over Reserve team affairs. Other than that, I haven't a fecking clue what's going off, other than to say something is said to be happening on Tuesday. Welcome to the silly season!
Johnny Baguette
I don't believe that rumour, surely there must be roles for Eddie Large, Curly Watts & Les Battersby!
Ghost of 76
What about a bernard Manning statue to replace the B of the Bang? Controversial.
Johnny Baguette
We could have Stuart Hall running its a knockout in the second half, if, we are losing and they have the ball.
Buzz Lightyear
Just reading the transfer rumours about what players we are interested in, but this has to be a load of Hogwash, because if as they state the end of Svennis is nigh, then the new man will have his own ideas, unless the papers know different. If getting to the CL final and second in the prem gets you the sack, what chance has Sven got.
Buzz Lightyear
The word around Sportcity is it's the Thai's who are running the show transfer and agents wise. I find that worrying lads. I steadily get the idea Toxin has gone for a let the anger of the fans fizzle out before revealing his hand option.
Johnny Baguette
You can't run a Football club (the playing side) like a normal business, it does not work that way, there is no instant success. You can in a commercial sense, but players react in different ways to managers. I am hope something will be announced soon one way or another.
Buzz Lightyear
The Rumour Mill says it will be this week. Frog papers say Ronaldhino deal is on. Some Blues on the net say Jo of CSKA has been in town. In many respects the Thais have to get weaving rapidly or we'll be even more rudderless before we play the lesser lights in the UEFA cup. The frightening thing is are they aware of the urgency? Are Wardle and Mackintosh out in the cold?
Johnny Baguette
It's been a good season for City & ex players getting medals e.g Samaras, Beasley, Sinclair, Distin, James, Miller...anyone else I have missed ?
alphieblues
JB I think they were continuity until they got to know how it works, then yes out they go. Alphie I thnik you got them all
Buzz Lightyear
Is Sven fed up with all the waiting? A top South American agent has announced tonight Svennis will be the next Mexico coach. Agent Juan Carlos Padilla believes the Swedish tactician has already concurred on a two-year deal with Mexico, having accepted his tenure at Eastlands is drawing to a close. "Eriksson speaks five languages. He speaks Portuguese, Italian, English, Swedish and German," he said. "So if you take Portuguese and Italian, put them together and exert a bit of effort, you can speak Spanish in two months. So there'll be no language barrier.
Johnny Baguette
... p.s Matthew Mills today for Doncaster...
alphieblues
and too add to all that the papers say Avram Grant
Buzz Lightyear
I thought Grant's appointment without the coaching badges which was somehow glossed over was poor, but his treatment at the hands of the weasel Kenyon and co is appalling.
Johnny Baguette
i dont no why they got rid of him thou they drew on points to win the league and they got to the final of the champions league ill clap my hands to grant for someone who has no exsperience and did that well with chelsea. And i honestly though Corluka was the best signing for us he did brillant
dunne deal
Not only that DD but he played in different positions just to show he is a class act
Buzz Lightyear
When you think about it, when you make 8 signings in a few weeks, Sven and his network unearthed us a few gems.
Johnny Baguette
I just cant get over the poaper talk at the moment. all about teams in for our players and DT T talking to potential managers, if this is the case why does he not just come out with Sven is relieved of the coaching job and see who applies for it. JB you say it maybe today, watching the space as I type this already.
Buzz Lightyear
Jo of CSKA Moscow was spotted in town over the weekend, Buzz. I think that has given rise to speculation that something is imminent. But it also gives rise to concerns following the statement by Sven that the club is standing still over transfers and planning. Who is arranging signings, talking to clubs? It is alledged that Wardle and Mackintosh are out in the cold.
Johnny Baguette
The media seem to have missed our link with ex England managers. Any sign of the 'Wally with the Brolly' !!!
alphieblues
Sven just cant get sacked and if he is going to get the boot why keep it waiting this long and drag just get it done and over with and put uas out of are misserys
dunne deal
Hello boys/girls this isnt to take the p1ss or anything but there is a strong rumour around WHL that Dunne is having a medical at spurs on friday, anyone know anything. Thanks
n17 yid
wouldn't surprise me N17, but expect a couple of own goals per season as well as a great CB.
Buzz Lightyear
I thought no news was good news, but not in our case. Its tuesday and not a sound.
Buzz Lightyear
Does Dennis Tueart still play for you lot?
