Avram Grant Set To Replace Sven

Avram Grant, the former Chelsea manager, is leading the race to be the next manager of Manchester City, according to reports.

Speculation surrounding the future of City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson continues after club owner Thaksin Shinawatra refused to answer whether Sven would remain at the club.

Former prime minister of Thailand told the AFP news service...

'It's normal at the end of the season that every Premier League football club will have to do something with the team, by strengthening the team.'

'Everything is part of strengthening the team, including coach, players and even improving the pitch ourselves.'

Shinawatra is thought to be on the verge of making Avram Grant an offer he cannot refuse following his disastrous (tongue in cheek) eight months in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Vital Manchester City says...

'He (Toxin) seriously thinks that 'Mr Personality' (Grant), who has run Manchester United so close in the Premier and Champions League would be the perfect replacement for Eriksson.'

'What planet is he on?'

Believe me this man is not a good coach, But it was in the forefront, All good results for Chelsea this season was from the assistant coach ( henk ten kat ), I say realy there is no understanding management of football in Manchester City, if they contract with Grant !! & you will see next season he can not continue to lead the team more than two months, At that time you will remember my Words.

Please, don't give Ten Cate credit - he ruined Ajax and he is apparently responsible for a lot of the dressing room tension at Chelsea.

Avram Grant led chelsea to champ's glory by beating Liverpool(something that Jose Mourinho failed to do twice)!! / Chelsea was better than Manchester in the last 2 games between the sides(we all know that Avram's side was much better in the Champ's final than Ferguson's side). / Avram grant's side beat Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester, one after one to match the points of manchester in the league(When he got the team after Mourinho's departure, Chelsea was in sixth place in the table and struggle in the Champ's league against rosenburg at home). So if Man. City will get to sign him, it'll be a great step by the club and will take it to higher position than this year! (lets not forget that Avram's side beat the City like no one else did, 6-0 against his good friend sven, so if you can't beat him, recruit him).

the one that have "no idea"(Avram Grant), was a manager of the better side in the Champ's league and in the league itself(he got the team in fifth position and beat Arsenal,

...Liverpool and the United, one by one to reach equality in points with the best ever Man. Utd team. We can't say this about many managers in the league itself(not to say, in the world as general).so,to bring Avram to be the City's manager will be great boost for the club.

alonrose, Grant led the team before Kate come in three games, he only take four points from nine, Kate when he leave Ajax the team was in the top and after that they fell to fifth ( but in the end they come in scound place ), If you look to the Abramovich Politics with the coachs ( Ranieri & Morinho ) you will find the both of them continued for more than a year & They Offered their resignations not be sacked, But with Grant he Sacked after one year!!!!!, And for information Abramovich was still wants Kate, but Kate did not want to continue !! How do you explain this ?!!!!!!!

City 81 my friend- I don't know where did you get your stats mate, but The truth is that Mr' Avram Grant led Chelsea ten games before Mr' Ten Cate arrived(in the league and Champs) and turn things around for good before Ten Cate arrived. And his magnificent stats after Mr' Ten Cate arrived is about equal to those before Ten Cate arrived to matter of fact. Mr' Ten Cate didn't succeed as the head of top notch team(Ajax) that might have less money than Chelsea but has more tradition in the champions league. and to be able to manage a top notch team is different than to be one of the coaches. Therefore, if we base ourselves on facts on the ground and not just presume, Mr' Avram Grant is the first ever manager to lead Chelsea to the Champ's final(did it against a better liverpool side than the one that Mourinho failed to beat twice in the same level), was much better than Sir Alex in the final of the champ's, beat Alex, Wenger and Benitez in the league to match the points of Manchester(one have not to forget that he got the team from mourinho in 5-6 place in the league and struggling in the Champ's). So if Man. City will be able to have Mr' Avram Grant this year it will be just great for the City. I really don't understan whay the owner had to let Mr' Sven to go, but since he left, Avram Grant can be huge signing for the City and take it one step forward than the ninth spot. The sky is the limit.

Barrib- You are not a real fan of your club, you base yourself on hatre to the others and not on loving your club. It's true that i like Mr' Grant and he is outstanding manager. some chelsea fans are Mourinho fans and they kill themslves for the fact that Avram Grant led Chelsea to it first Champ's final, the most importan thing and the one that call himself special, didn't succeed to do in the years before, sad but true. some Chelsea fans though are real fans and admire Mr' Grant for leading them to huge success this year. But that's how the world built some know to appreciate someone that give them outstanding success and some live in denial.
