'Sparky' Set To Light Up City

Manchester City has made an approach for Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes, according to the Sunday Mail.

If you believe everything you read in the tabloids then club owner, Thaksin Shinawatra is ready to offer Hughes £3million a year to move to the City of Manchester Stadium.

The 44-year-old Welshman nicknamed 'Sparky' had an incredible playing career notably at Manchester United, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Southampton, Everton and finally Blackburn Rovers before retiring in 2002.

In 1999, Hughes entered, for the first time into management when he took over as the Wales national team coach. Five years later, he resigned his post to become the boss at Ewood Park.

So far, neither club have made any comment.

he's destined for Chelsea, mark my words!
merlin
Hey Merlin you might have it wrong there you could be getting Sven !!!
alphieblues
he's got a nice cosy, safe job at Blackburn, and he's one of the favourites to take over at the swamp when Fergie retires. When he considers how Sven has been treated, I don't think he'd even consider taking over at Eastlands. He may consider the Chelsea job, but I think he'll stay put for the time being.

Alphie, that was a good call about Zico, Hughes may be a reserve
Buzz Lightyear
I think whoever Frank appoints, as usual, it will be someone that has never been mentioned by the media.

Gary Cook takes the helm today. Something has to happen and fast.

alphie, Are Toxin go in taxi !, Every witness in his way a club, He gone down and negotiate with them: Can we sell your Coach:))
city 81
Lot of steam up for Hughes, but we have to feel sorry for Sven, everyone talking about who is next and the poor (multimillionaire)guy is still in limbo, why is Toxin not putting him out of his misery. The other problem is that Chelski is also on the hunt for a manager and we have to wait in line. The good thing with Hughes over another foreigner is that he does know the Premier and what you need to be successful. If Blackburn let him go, I do not think that he would have a problem in signing for us.

Sven has gone. a sad day, but at least we can now move on. I can only summise that we have found a replacement.
Buzz Lightyear
Perhaps happiness days is began.
