Speaking in a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish the 60-year-old Swede spoke to the media about his new challenge as the Mexican national coach....

'Our target is the World Cup and to try to do better than last time.'

'The move from Manchester City is a great challenge because Mexico is a great country. I am very proud of the players in the Mexican national team.'

I think Sven was too long out of day to day football and tried to play the same way that he did when he last managed, but times had moved along. I still think he moved the club further forward than any manager since Joe Mercer and Big Mal. The way we started was exciting football until teams found out how to stop us.Together with the inabiltiy to score, which was all too clear against the teams lower down the leagues.

Sparky is an excellent replacement but I think you may live to regreat getting rid of Sven.. The lad did good
