Sorry Tottenham But Dunne Is Staying At City

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is more than hopeful that Blues Captain Richard Dunne will sign a new lucrative contract.

The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland defender had been reportedly unsettled at the club for some time and reports suggested Tottenham were after his services, nevertheless, should Dunne accept the new deal it would make him the highest paid player at Eastlands.

Sparky told the official Man City website...

'I've spoken to Richard, he's on holiday abroad at the moment but I've had a discussion with him and I've told him my feelings on the situation. Obviously I'm very keen for him to remain at the club, and we're working in that direction.'

'It's a little bit difficult because he's away at the moment, but I'm sure that when he's back this will be resolved very quickly.'

'We have offered Richard a substantial deal, there may be more negotiations to be done but I am very hopeful that he will continue to be a Manchester City player.'

Vital Manchester City says...

'Now that it looks like Dunne is about to sign a new contract Tottenham know exactly what they can do. They can...'

Please feel free to finish off the sentence!

thank god! said it several times before on posts saying we were linked to him. He is over rated, playing for a little team that makes him look big. in a decent team he will have nothing to offer. Not as good as King, Woodgate, Dawson. So no need for him. Where is ronaldinho?
SonicBorg
Agree Sonicborg, Harry Redknapp wants him and we all know what a bad judge of a footballer he is.
Buzz Lightyear
I'm gutted, some of my fellow Spurs didn't rate Dunney for the quality defender he is,the exact kind of player we don't have and we need badly. We should have pounced quickly and decisively in the short window of time available to us.Probably end up spending 8mil on some south American CB who's afraid of a bit of physical now.********* anyway.

he was going to be a squad player........no sleep lost.

Richard Dunne is the sort of player Mark Hughes will like. A no nonsense get stuck into em type of player.
