City Face Villa On The Opening Day

Season 2008/09 Premier League fixtures have been published with Manchester City facing their first game of the new campaign away at Aston Villa.

The Premier League season kicks off in style on Saturday August 16 with thousands of City fans expected to descend on Villa Park in what will be Mark Hughes first league game in charge. Last seasons corresponding fixture saw 41,455 spectators witness both teams play out a 1-1 draw.

The Christmas period is always a busy time, however this season City fans can enjoy their Boxing Day festivities closer to home when, on this occasion, Premier League new boys Hull City visit the City of Manchester Stadium.

This will certainly test Sparky's new team. Both of you will want to be fighting for European places.
