Sparky Awarded Pot Of Gold

Club owner Thaksin Shinawatra has told Blues boss Mark Hughes he can spend in excess of £30million on new players.

Hughes, should he begin the 'big spend' is keen on bringing in a couple of highly rated players from his previous club Blackburn Rovers, notably David Bentley and Christopher Samba, however bigger fish in the huge pond known to be available are CSKA Moscow's 21-year-old Brazil striker Jo and Barcelona's Ronaldinho.

The latest reports suggest Jo is on the verge of signing for an estimated £12m while fellow Brazilian Ronaldinho is still pondering his options.

Even more money would be made available depending on the sale of at least half-a-dozen players on their way out of Eastlands, making the total estimated 'pot of gold' available in the region of £60m.

no poisened remarks this week lads... nice to see you got rid of the toxin title...now that he moved the club into business that works rather than the cake and arse party it has been for years.
tommytheblue
30 million might just be enough to sign ONE new player !!!
alphieblues
you can have Samba and Bent's for your 30M if you like!!
MajiRovers
No thanks MagilRovers not even for 10M
alphieblues
So you have £30 million. £12 million of that on Jo, £4 million on Christopher Samba (alledgely), quite a bit on Ronaldino, £10+ million on Bentley. Not a massive rebuild of your squad then...?
Decimus Poole
its not alot of money to be spemding on players especially the price of signing good players now. Hughes is going to have to use his skills with this money cos he was good without mioney at blackburn lets see what he can do with money hopefully something good
dunne deal
i thought he said we can spend 100-200mill in the next two years. 30mill isnt a lot to spend on new players.
allwaysablue
30 million, 60 million, 100 million, 200 million...Where does everybody get these figures from. My understanding is that he will spend whatever it takes to make the Club a global force.
alphieblues
Don't like the idea of changing the club badge, is that rumour true? Arshavin, was he linked with City, I watched that game last night and I know it is only one game, but he looked good. The Jo deal sounds dodgy, glad Goofy dosen't want to come to city. Anything new regarding dunney?
Buzz Lightyear
The question on my mind is WTF is a 'cake and arse party'. Tommy please enlighten. The lads in Reddish need to know!
Ra-Ra-Roger
they should leave the badge the way it is its brilliant badge i hate when teams do that change the badge dont get me wrong wee changed are badge a few years ago but changing it again so soon
dunne deal
Mr. Cook has denounced the badge rumour as nonsense. Thank christ. We don't need anymore *****take.
Johnny Baguette
When Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore took over at QPR what did they do, yup you guessed it - changed the clubs badge. Anyway, what's wrong with a bit of Thai on our shirt?? Gulp, Answers on a post card to.....com.
Tudor
The top rumour was it had an elephant on it. If that happened, then that seriously would be it for me. The circus would be complete. I wouldn't put anything past the Thai Controllers!
Johnny Baguette
ha ha thats very true JB the club is starting to be like a circus.
dunne deal
Ra-Ra-Roger cake and arse party...is a military slang.... for something that doesnt work, gone wrong. i dont know why...but i have been brought up with that phrase.
tommytheblue
£30 million pounds will not go very far with the players that are being mentioned with your club.
dazza71
Nah, Dazza, that's the 30 million quid that Hughes is allowed to spend. The Other 300 million will be squandered by the footy clueless Thais and the "super" agents.
Johnny Baguette
£30,000,000 how much did Phony Erickson spend?
col8
About the same amount in three weeks initially, then Benjan and then another 7 approx on Benjani and Caicedo in January.
Johnny Baguette
Andrey Arshavin must bring .
