Man City Face SPL Champions Celtic

Manchester City has announced a so-called glamorous pre-season friendly against Scottish Premier League Champions, Celtic.

The game will take place at Celtic Park on Wednesday 6 August with satellite channel Setanta Sports expected to show the game live on either Celtic TV, or Setanta Sports 1.

Gordon Strachan's side are eager to face foreign opposition prior to their defence of the SPL Championship having already agreed to play first class opposition with the likes of Southampton, Fulham, Middlesbrough and last years beaten FA Cup finalists Cardiff City!

Tickets have yet to be finalised, however Parkhead can expect a lively Manchester City following come the kick-off.

Hopefully they will be able to unveil their new £3m Greek striker before the match!!!!!!!!

Perhaps oliverblue, just wondering who that might be? Isn't it sad when the champions of Scotland have to take our cast-offs!
Tudor
Only sad for them Tudor, not for us! Hopefully it will clear the decks for some more signings to follow Jo thru the door.

I couldn't have put it any better oliverblue.

Thanks for the invite, its always good to wipe the floor with the diddy English teams pre season before wiping the floor with the proper ones in the CL.

Manchester City???? Why the feck are Celtic playing this no-mark team?? No history 2nd best team in the city hunners of money trying to buy the league

this will be good, celtic > city

What a bloody waste of a pre-season friendly. We would been better off playing a league 2 sides reserve team. At least we would get a decent game!
Tudor
Come on Blues - let's not get drawn into pointless discussions with our skirt wearing friends up north. If they wish to believe they are bigger and better than us, and their two team league is also superior, then good luck to them!
oliverblue
Celtic are a bigger club and better team....premiership = 4 team league.

shhh Daniel, you cant say that about the 'biggest league in the world' Skirt wearing? haha. Uneducated pleb that you are (not surprised though) European Cup-your dream, our reality ;)
mahoney67
In terms of Samaras, I believe it's a straight race for our cast-off between you guys and Hull. Dont think i need to say any more do I? PLEB ;)
