EB/Streymur Stadium In Glorious Colour! - Video

Before Manchester City fans think about travelling to the Faroe Islands on July 17 to watch Mark Hughes side face EB/Streymur in Round 1 of the UEFA Cub, take a look at this.

The video was recorded on June 25, 2008 and lasts just under 10 minutes.

Looks like fun to me!

Hughes on the draw....“The fitness factor does come into play just because the teams you face at this stage invariably are in the middle of their season. I think the team we’re going to face from the Faroes will have played 13 games when we meet them. “So they’re ahead of us in fitness terms, but we’d like to think with the base fitness that professional footballers have at Premier League level, and technically we will be far and away the better side. You would expect that to be enough. “Obviously the strength of their league is nowhere near the Premier League, so you’d like to think really that we’d progress.”

JB...I think MH has forgottent this is City he is talking about and just about anything can happen...

Exactly what I was thinking! I don't like that 13 games comment at all!! Gulp!
Johnny Baguette
As long as our fitness is better than Ronaldinho's, we'll be fine!

At least when the second leg comes round our players will be acclimatised to the weather in Barnsley.!!!

We seem to be relentlessly linked with strikers and need to offload. As far as I can make out, released this week: Geovanni, Mpenza, Sun and Dickov.
Johnny Baguette
We can add Isaksson to that list having completed his move to PSV. We need strength in depth and roght now that is only up front. Midfield is the key to take the weight off our defence.

JB. I think that the point as far as you can make out. There has been little information coming from the offical site has to who has been released. The Muen told us Fazackerley had gone. mcfc.co.uk has told us Isaksson has gone, but I suspect that is because we actually still owned him, but nothing about the out of contract players. Breen a member of the FA Youth team has also gone, Hereford have signed him. I just wonder why no information is given to the fans by the official site. Agree with you about always being linked with strikers, when other areas need strengthening, including a goalie, not sure re Schmikes junior as cover for a top premier side. As for the Faroes Isle trip, if you have seen the youtube clip, then you will know that City's allocation maybe as much as 14 no not fouteen hundred, 14, or if you can get there, with a good pair of binoculars you will be able to see if from the hillside with the sheep to keep you company.

Sounds amazing. I know some Blue pals who are after chartering a jet!! Also, EB are aiming to transfer the tie to a 6000 capacity ground.

Is it true we've signed an Italian kid called Trotta???? Please dont let it be Del or Rodney!!!!!!
oliverblue
Yellow Reliant Robin spotted at SportCity...
Johnny Baguette
Apparantly Napoli are going bonkers about City signing Trotta. He must be mint. Not to happy with us signing international kids like Chelski do, though.
Johnny Baguette
well look at chelsea they have won a trpohy every year since ambromvich has taking over so if things start going that way for us happy days maybe we will start this year with the uefa cup god only knows
