Midfield Priority For City

After rumours of big-money defender signings, it is City's midfield and not defence which is the priority area for strengthening in the summer transfer window according to our recent website poll. Full results below:

Midfield: 70%

Goalkeeper: 15%

Defence: 9%

Strikers: 6%

With Barton's contract saga still not resolved and put on ice until the Summer and first team regulars Musampa and Riera both on loan, City's midfield looks to have a less than permanent feel about it. Reyna, Sinclair and Jihai Sun have had a bad time with long term injuries and Sibierski's time at the club is surely coming towards a close.

This may be an opportunity for some more Academy youngsters to break through, but surely it's time to bring in a couple of real quality midfielders to sort out what has been City's biggest problem area for some time.

Who would you like to see brought into the midfield and do City have the financial resources to attract quality players?

I like the look of Villa's Steven Davis, although Unitied will probably get him first. Kevin Nolan would certainly toughen up the midfield, but do we really want another scouser?
