'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Micah Richards - Midfield General?

The answer to City's lack of strength in midfield could already be charging about Bluesy's Carrington Football Factory...

Micah Richards has got it all, is as strong as an ox and he is still maturing.

With City's defensive options bolstered by signing Chelsea's underplayed Tal Ben Haim, a good number of Blues across the City wires are pushing for a Richards-Johnson midfield engine room axis.

The prospect of Richards going box to box alongside the similarly powerful Johnson is certainly something worth considering and an option Bluesy could explore in the coming friendlies against Celtic and AC Milan.

Were this idea to be realised, it would be yet another achievement for the brilliant MCFC Academy!

Could you see Richards commanding Central Midfield with Johnno? Give us a shout on the Vital MCFC Forums.

I suspect that this suggestion is not going to happen. Richards speed is the key. Because Charlie has the lope of a giraffe, I would think that Micah would take the RB sport and charlie to midfield holding role. Its a puzzle because until we get a right sided midfielder of quality it still looks unbalanced.

Looks like the calls for SWP are growing Buzzer.
Johnny Baguette
Yes but can we get him to come back with his dad dead against it.
Buzz Lightyear
Was this not Micah's role in the Youth Team ???
alphieblues
chelski said SWP is going nowhere so i thijk we can stop thinking about him coming back cause i honesty dont think its going to happen
dunne deal
Sometimes I drift towards wanting him back, but then I consider his family searching out houses in the south east for him months before he left City. Never go back, they say. Pascale Feindhouno at Saint Etienne for me. Experienced and clever.
Johnny Baguette
Yes, alph, he was a midfielder in the youth set up.

This lad can open doors. Sign him up... http://www.pascalfeindouno.com/

I feel Micah can do a Steven Gerard for us.
alphieblues
I have also called for him to play in this role for some time. He has a lot of the attributes required already. His passing needs some works, as does his concentration level, but I feel he'd do an excellent job for us there. Having said that, he looks comfortable wherever he's been asked to play. Corluka would be equally good. The only thing lacking in his came is speed, but he reads the game superbly.

Bring it all on! EB Streymur, YOU are next!

i think its a smart idear puttin richards in midfield he is big strong and fas oh and powerful he could be the best midfilder b4 we no it
dunne deal
Definitely Richards can do it, I think he's wasted on the right and left and he's got too much energy for centre back. If I was a central midfielder I would not want Micah Richards on my case for 90 minutes. I would love to see him in that position, I think he'd come into his own.
SkyBlueSuedeShoes
You're not alone mate. There's plenty of Blues talking this one up.
Johnny Baguette
I've never really heard of that Feindouno lad but he has to be a bit of a ***** to have a website as flash as that one.
SkyBlueSuedeShoes
Most of the blues I know are thinking the same, he just needs his rough edges smoothing off and he'd boss it.
SkyBlueSuedeShoes
I'm happy the issue is getting column space to be honest.
SkyBlueSuedeShoes
I NO PAUL MARSHALL PLAYED NEXT TO JOHNSON IN THE YOUTH TEAM AND MICAH PLAYED WHERE HE IS NOW.BUT WHY IS PAUL MARSHALL NOT GETTING A CHANCE.
jimbo1234
Good point Jimbo. Marshall's a Gorton lad as I recall. What a conveyor belt of talent we have!
Johnny Baguette
It could well be that Bluesy has something up his sleeve, SBSS. I don't think he has brought in Ben Haim to be a squad player. As for Feindouno, one of the most creative players in France and I'm amazed bigger clubs have not picked him up.
