Bojinov Almost Ready To Rumble

Valeri Bojinov, The Bulgarian Raging Bull's comeback is gathering pace...

It could well be that Bluesy might now hold back on the search for another striker until the last minute this month as he monitors the progress of Bojinov's promising return to first team action - A return that could save City many millions.

His headed goal against the quintessentially brilliant Stockport County yesterday will have given the lad a tremendous boost and the belief that he will soon be able to charge about up front roughing up defenders for City the way he did in Italy.

With Jo getting polluted in China and Benjani thigh knacked, there has been much talk of City shelling out big time for Roque Santa Cruz at Blackburn. But if I were Bluesy, I'd settle for what we have right now.

Bianchi and Vassell's Premier League experience may yet prove surplus to requirements leaving Benjani, Evans, Sturridge, Jo, Caicedo and Bojinov making up what could become an embarrassment of mainly young and powerful riches in the MCFC armoury. Jo and Bojinov up front could prove a fearsome partnership with the right service.

It's likely these lads will get to work together regularly on a rotational basis unlike being asked to fulfil the lone striker roles they essentially failed in under Svennis.

The Boj has time on his side to recover from that appalling knee injury suffered against the rags last summer. There is no need to rush him back with too much action too soon. But so far, so good. Only 22, he could still have a long and rewarding career in the game. Here's to that career being with Manchester City!

Do you think Bluesy should still spend on another striker? Give us a shout on the Vital MC Forums.

Hope he comes through for you guys .. I think he's quality and was Sven's best signing last year (even though he hardly played) .. It'll be a good legacy for him to leave .. Bojinov and Benjani (i think) could be lethel together for ya.. What's wrong with Benny's thigh ?.... You guys promised to look after him, if you're not doing it we'll have him back @ Pompey!!!

Yes I think he should still get a striker because even though Boj looks set to be fit, injuries can happen at anytime. It'll be a long season and we could do with Santa Cruz - get rid of Bianchi. Keep Vass as back up and get rid of Benjani because he was a Sven panic buy! Bojinov is going to be a big hit. So yes 1 more Striker please and a right winger Shaun Wright-Phillips. Elano in middle, Petrov Left wing. Unstoppable

This link has done the rounds here before but worth another look one year on. One on one with this lad, there's only one place the ball is going. Boom Boom Bojinov as he was known in Italy: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9t95eoZao2k
