No Deal Struck With Tottenham Over Corluka

Manchester City defender Vedran Corluka is reportedly being groomed by Tottenham, however, City boss Mark Hughes has gone on record to say no approach has been made.

Sky Sports reported...

SkySports.com understands Tottenham are closing in on a deal for Vedran Corluka...However, Sky Sport has learnt a deal could soon be struck as both clubs engage in discussions.

Meanwhile the Manchester Evening News reported Sparky as saying...

'There has been interest shown...There will always be speculation surrounding good players like him. He has had no contact with Spurs.'

Vital Manchester City says...

'Can the media, just for once stop this nonsense and read and understand the last paragraph.'

'Corluka or any Man City representative have had no reported contact with Spurs, so please stop the rumours and concentrate on someone else.'

Corluka was not included in todays City team photo shoot. Strong indications are he's in London negotiating a deal with Spurs after City agreed a transfer fee. Rant all you want mate, the players going to Spurs and the £7mill will help keep City afloat.

what a great signing corluka will be for spurs. And if it were true, isn't it funny that hughes dont know anything about it, or is he just pretending? he must wish he stayed at blackburn.

City's hierarchy have still not ruled this out and that is of concern considering the lad's talent, experience and potential. Corluka deffo wasn't at the shoot, but at least One Danny Mills was!! All eyes on Eastlands. Again.

One rumour in circulation is that the club needs to sell to ease the wage bill. That's the way Lids slide started. Too much speculation of course, but there's no smoke without fire when the damaging rumours are running at such a high extent. We need a club statement more than ever to ease our concerns, but as with Svengate, it isn't the Thai hierarchy's style. Wardle, Mackintosh, Sven etc. There is a lot of truth to come out.

Yeah, I second that, welshyido. Arkie & Johnny Baguette I'm not doubting your sources/information, but news at the Spurs end has dried up ... if indeed this is a genuine move in the making. The scattergun approach that the tabloids embark on make it hard to take anything seriously. For what it's worth, Mark Hughes is an honourable guy and if he says there's been no contact with Spurs - then I'd take him at face value. Hope the season goes well for you Blues.
