Several bookmakers have slashed their odds from 16/1 to 8/1 and made Mark Hughes fourth favourite to be the first Premier League boss to leave his club this season.

'It seems extraordinary that a new, high profile boss like Hughes might leave his club having barely taken charge but that's football, these days, and punters certainly believe it is a real possibility' said Wiiliam Hill's spokesman, Graham Sharpe.
