Fresh Bid For Santa Cruz

Manchester City has increased their offer for Blackburn Rovers ace Roque Santa Cruz, according to a source.

Rovers rejected City's offer of £12m but news circulating suggest Mark Hughes has made a fresh bid of £18million for the Paraguayan striker.

'We are in the market for a striker and made a substantial offer, which has been well documented,' added Hughes.

'We will have to wait and see what happens.'

BRFC have stated quite clearly they aren't selling, so if that statement is true, the increased bid wont matter. If the story about the bid is correct, we'll see how determined they are. Wont believe anything until I see him at COMS in a City shirt singing Blue Moon. Hope there is some action on the right winger front soon!

Can he play central midfield/left back?

Sorry boys but RSC isn't movin across to you boys this year and can you blame him??? You guys are as stable as the Titanc on it's maiden voyage!!!! Players must be alarmed by the situation that you have at Ciy. The Doctor has not helped things one bit and RSC couldn't perform miracles......you are 5-6 players away from the same strength in depth as us (Rovers)....if u have ideas of 5th, 6th or 7th in that league then i think u would need 7-8 players!! Ball, haman, fernandes, Ireland, Vassell not gud enough. Strurridge, Evans and Johnson not ready to make a massive impact yet!!! I think uv got a decent base but years away from a top 7 team!!!
