SWP Petition Handed To City Official

Vital Man City regular Carl Tilson aka mcfcthriller liased with Eastlands officials during the AC Milan friendly a few weeks ago and handed in the following 'Bring Back Shaun Wright Phillips Petition'.

On July 2005, Shaun was sold to Chelsea for 21 million due to City in finance trouble.

Reports coming out of Stamford Bridge suggest Chelsea are having a major clear out and on that list is the Manchester City youth Academy prodigy Shaun Wright-Phillips which means he may have to re-think his football future, FA Cup winners Portsmouth has reportedly shown an interest in signing the 26-year-old winger. Recent reports state SWP is happy at Chelsea and will fight for his place but that remains to be seen!

Now that Brazilian ace Ronaldinho has snubbed City and signed for AC Milan, Blues fans are eager to capture the delights only SWP can achieve. So the team at Vital Manchester City started a petition because we wanted to give a voice to the City fans because after all, they are the heart of the club and their views are just as important as City Officials.

We the City faithful undersigned petition to Manchester City Football Club to invest in bringing Shaun Wright-Phillips back to the club where it wouldn't only be good for the team`s point of view, giving us a good balance on the right wing, it would fill the stadium (bringing money to the club), which would be good for a business point of view. Also, the fans and the spirit would be electric!

Will those in charge of City owner Thaksin Shinawatra's financial purse allow Mark Hughes to make a bid for the one and only Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Everyone will benefit from this - SWP will get regular football, the fans will be happy, bringing more people to matches, we'll finally have that cutting-edge and balance on the left and right of midfield with Petrov on the left wing and Shaun on the right wing, also it will give us lots of pace down the flanks.

We believe Shaun can return to his best especially with Hughes in charge, thus helping his chances of breaking into the England squad and getting his fitness levels up to a standard so he can outdo defenders creating more space for forwards and midfield.

Please make it happen!

Saimon blues - it simply sends out a message from the City faithful to the club, that the vast majority of us would love to see SWP back where he belongs.

Phew, the coding took me longer than expected. Thanks for being patient! Right, back to business - how about if he came back on a season loan?

....that's if Chelsea won't sell him and we can't afford his wages. Just an idea.

That would do Tudor. We're embarrassingly short on the right!

I guess it's down to the player and how much longer he wants to benchwarm for them without a regular 90 minutes of football!!

True! Part of him has to think his best years are passing him by. He'd have been a City legend and an England regular if he'd stopped. Yet another ill-advised young man!

Your more than welcome to have him back if you offer a decent price. Simply hasn't produced the goods at Chelsea.

You don't get much opportunities to deliver the goods according to the stats at Chelsea. Go on then, how much?

the small matte is will he actually go is he actually going to go or is this just another one of these spoofs going around. I just find it weird that we were one of the teams to sign ronaldhino and now we cant sign anyone

You and me both dd. There's a rule of though that reckons the whole Goofy charade was based on the boardroom thinking they could pull the deal off with sponsors backing. Naiively they were planning on Thaksin getting all his money back and that backfired. So it's Plan B and frighteningly borrowing as Leeds did.

So many hurdles - would Chelsea release him? - Would SWP want to come back whether on a loan or permanently? - Could we afford him? - Does the club actually want him back? So many hurdles, so many questions.

Well we must have it because we put a bid in for Santa Cruz for 12 Million... Plus the TV loan revenue! As once, I heard someone say "A great entrepreneur is an entrepreneur in debt". Put in a 8m bid for SWP and then maybe loan an experienced, strong striker for 6 months or a season while Bojinov is out injured and have the young strikers, Sturridge, Evans, come in as the on loan strikers partner who ever that would be and adsorb the skills and talent from him into their own game.

I still get narked when I consider the way SWP left City. I have family in the South East who are estate agents and were searching out houses for the Wright-Phillips family months before he announced at Macc that he wanted to speak to Chelsea. I prefer to believe it was his advisers and a desperate City board who pushed the transfer through.

well sturridge is a very good young palyer and is very talented and he can score goals. I would say hughes is kicking himself now for getting rid of all them strikers cause who have we actually got now

I see no problem in persisting with Evans/Sturridge plus Elano until Jo is back. We are hard up and need to strengthen elsewhere. If the team are strong and create, then the young lads up front will score goals.

You have a point, DD. But I still say give Bianchi a go. There is also Caicedo who has been garbage on the books. Saw the Frank protests. This is just not going to go away and we are stuck with it until he sells up.

I wouldn't include Bojinov in the Bianchi equation DD. The lad has had shocking luck for a 22 yr old. It's a disaster that he is badly injured again. Take another look at that Milan goal. Quality.

No, Boj will come good as long as he makes a full recovery. Bianchi for me is still unproven, as he's not been given a decent run. He scored when he played! He cant be classed as our worst signing when we've had Samaras, Vuoso, etc.

Nah, Bianchi did have a decent run with Sven, I remember shouting at the TV and at the matches when there was quite a few times where there was a empty net and he was up close - All he had to do was pouch the ball in and he missed it from being right next to the net. Also that scarf he wears when he plays, what a Mard-A$$!

It's all about opinions mcthriller, so I appreciate yours. Bianchi's record last season was 10 starts and 5 goals. In my opinion, that aint bad! It's all looking irrelevant anyway, as his days appear numbered!
