Hughes Bids For SWP

Hughes Bids For SWP

The fellas at Guardian Football have it on good authority that City have made an official bid to Chelsea for the right sided services of Shaun Wright-Phillips.

The tabled bid is reported as £10 Million and Chelski are said to be ready to take the loss on board in order to fund other transfers this week.

So the spotlight is on SWP. He has to make a decision sharpish. Top wages and a bench in London where he is happy to live or top wages and a regular start at Eastlands in front of an adoring public who will be prepared to forgive and forget. However, we can be sure that no move will be allowed to take place without his adviser's blessing.

Now if Thaksin's City hierarchy can pull this one off, it would prove something of a PR masterstroke with the Blues faithful.

This looks likely to be a busy week for Eastlands' revolving door.

There appears to be another bid for SWP, looks like Everton, but if its not about money then surely he would pick City in a heartbeat.

can't say I'll be sad to see him go. I'm positive though he would be a great addition to your squad.

Everton can't afford him, plus they are not as big as City i'm sorry!

Think there is truth in the bid, but the hard part seems to be convincing him to leave (if the bid is accepted of course!). Hopefully he'll see sense.

He has no choice... Either stay, never get a game and people will forget who he is or come to the up and coming City with great ambition, A manager we can trust, fans will cheer him on, finally he will be able to play regularly!

Would have wanted him to sign before 12 today to get him in the team for tomorrow, but perhaps that is asking too much. The lads should be on their way, which means that MH will be with them and cannot speak to SWP face to face to try and get him to sign for us.

Well even his dad will recommend he leaves Chelsea so it’s a win/win situation. Ian Wright is disapointed with them not playing him.
