Spurs Sign Vedran Corluka

With just hours to go before the transfer window closes, Croatian defender Vedran Corluka has left Manchester City for Premier League rivals Tottenham.

Corluka (22) signed for City last August on a five-year-deal, however following a transfer request, Blues boss Mark Hughes decided to let the player go. No official figure has been mentioned although reports suggest City received £8million.

On joining Spurs Corluka said...

'I am delighted to be here because I am coming to a big club with great players, great ambition and also my best friend [Luka Modric] is here so it is a very happy day for me.'

Good luck Charlie and thanks for last season. We have strength in depth at the back now, so can understand the sale. Looking forward to seeing Petrov give him the roundaround when we meet (ha ha!)

I think Charlie will be regretting his move come the end of the season with the news of new owners and the ambition of finishing in the top four THIS season !!!

I think Modric being at Spurs played a big part. Also City did look like a bit of a sinking ship a couple of weeks back when this deal was supposed to be agreed. Funny the difference a couple of weeks makes eh

i the spurs have the quality to challenge top four. adding corluka will boost there chances and city under mark hughes are going places. think the deal went through because corluka made his mind up two weeks ago and only for that reason. good luck lads....not:)

Looks like the agreement with charlie was that id we get a repacement in then he could go, Zabaleta has arrived, I hope like Alphie that he does not regret leaving at this obviously exciting day in City's history. Berbatov and his pal Petrov.same sentiemnts as Oliver thank you Charlie.
