'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Earthquake As City Move For Ronaldo and Rooney

Probably. What day is it? September Fool's Day by all accounts...

Well, City might as well go for some rags while we are at it as container lorries carrying Abu Dhabi gold line up on Ashton New Road.

The Football world is in suspense with all eyes on City and the rags Carrington training ground. Spurs fans have their Taggart voodoo dolls out.

Rumours persist that Sir Taggart, disguised as a false bearded whisky soaked tramp has intercepted Tottenham 'striker in more ways than one' Dimitar Berbatov who was on his way to meet Mark Hughes at his local golf club.

Our very own Rigsby Petrov and the one legged Valeri Bojinov are desperately trying to talk Berbatov into a flatshare with them.

Meanwhile City make bids for David Villa and Mario Gomez.

And we stil hadn't got over Shaun Wright-Phillips Kung Fu winner at Sunderland.

And so starts an international break with a difference....

Jonni_G
lets just see who you get before midnight,my bet is no one.typical city, making loads of noise and nothing ever comes of it!!!
SweetLeftFoot
Wouldn't that be fun!
Tudor
Well we seem to be throwing money everywhere at the moment so these new owners seemt o realy mean business and its fantatsic cant wait for the game against Chelski
dunne deal
wow amazin this is unreal tranfer activity
123spurs
Even if we sign no-one, its just having the money to do so. Looking forward to next season already.
Buzz Lightyear
I do hope that they maintain the hopes of those lads in the academy to actually make it into the first team. Sturridge and Evans still have the ability to be very good players for this club.Along with other young prospects, I just hope they don't get lost in all this hype.
Buzz Lightyear
We cant froget about the youth BL yur right they have done alot for us aswell won the FA cup and everyting
dunne deal
That incredible lads. I was just considering in all this hysteria what effect a superstar will have on our young dressing room...
Johnny Baguette
Chelski was that a reference to our rich Russian friend, hope u get Berba, havent been able to stop *****ing myself since i heard the offer was accepted

why rooney? surely you could do better than him... if you were to get ronaldo, then - other than laughing incredibly hard - it would probably mean the end of Man U... there's only room for one club in manchester!
pompeycarpet
Its just putting the wind up the rags Pompeycarpet. Room for both clubs but they will have to move over a bit, we are going to join them in the front seat for a change, maybe do a bit of the driving for a while.
Buzz Lightyear
sky sports website says berba in talks with utd, i bet 99% of country is hoping he signs for u lot
ten men
In a way, it's a shame for you, that it's happened so late. If you want to sign a really good player - as chelsea and real madrid have both demonstrated (both unsuccesfully... but that's irrelevent), you need to tap them up for months before... so you will probably be lucky if you can sign anyone! Even so, Whilst I would have loved it for pompey to be in your position, I think man city are just about the only cother club that I could not start throwing a tantrum about "foreign billionairs"...
pompeycarpet
Its been a good day for us today though.I thought Bojinov and Petrov would have been able to make him choose City, but thats the way it goes.
Buzz Lightyear
city will be the richest club in the PL after been takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group
ehabfarouk1973
Berbatov is reported to have had a medical with the rags, but both clubs are £5million from an agreement...
Johnny Baguette
ehabfaroul1973, I take it they are very rich indeed, and I have to say they have bought a very fine traditional English family club.
Buzz Lightyear
James Montague at The Grauniad on our new owners. Mind blowing. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/sep/01/manchestercity.premierleague1?gusrc=rss&feed=football

Love the following paragraph in that article JB - Already a list of six players has been drawn up to be targeted in the January transfer window. The list, they say, will "make Berbatov's bid pale in comparison". HAPPY DAYS!!
oliverblue
With the rags not having permission to have talks with Berba its going to be interesting to see what the PL do about it. Even if he doesn't sign its got to be considered an illegal approach. Points deduction would be sweet but i imagine it'll be a 5k fine or some other paltry ammount
delinho
looks like I shall eat my own words... maybe €40million is enough to buy a player who one club refuses to sell o a second club, yet will sell to you even though is heart was already in the second club... ...that made no sence... basicly... im wrong.
pompeycarpet
The future is bright the future is blue and this time we can all say it cause its true
