'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wacky Betting World Of MCFC

Phew! What a week! Like most City fans, my head is still spinning from the whirlwind few days we have all just experienced.

I think it's fair to say that we are used to 'shocks' 'revelations' and 'changes' at Eastlands, but I doubt any of us will forget the events that unfolded on Monday 1st September 2008.

We are mega-rich, have a world-class player in Robinho, and are being linked with players that would normally only play for City in a game of Championship Manager! I think it's fair to say that the City Revo-BLUE-tion has well and truly begun.

So, as it's international week (who is it England play again?), 'Honest Oliver' has decided to ignore the weekend's matches, and have a look at what's on offer for our very own Manchester City.

With current media frenzy in our club, the bookies are only too happy to throw open markets on us - some sensible, some less so. Here are the pick, courtesy of our friends at www.odds checker.com

Season 2008/09

City to win the league with 28 point start 11/2

City to win the league (w/o the Top 2) 22/1

City to win the league (w/o the Top 4) 16/5

Top half finish 2/9 (not surprisingly)

City to win the league next season 14/1

First January Signing (Selected Odds)

Thierry Henry 11/2 (Fav)

Fernando Torres 16/1

Lionel Messi 20/1

Dimitar Berbatov 40/1 (Cheeky!!!)

....And finally, a few specials on our new No.10

Robinho to score v. Chelsea 4/1

Robinho hat-trick v. Chelsea 250/1

Robinho Player of the Month for September 16/1

Robinho to score 9 or more goals this season 8/11

Please note these are not 'Honest Oliver's' tips - just an insight into the wacky new world that is Manchester City. Happy gambling my friends, and remember, if Honest Oliver hasn't tipped it, it's not worth backing!

I saw 5/1 odds on City to win the Premier League next season :P Can't remember which bookies that was on, though.

You're right Falastur! You could get 5s but I shopped around for best prices and some are offering 14s. Anyone fancy it at that price??
