Why not open a "Matchday" thread so we can go at each other good & proper on matchday ? Just kidding :-) :-)
ZeeNut
Zeenut we normally do that on Matchday anyway and you are welcome to have a banter. I hope you win it this season but have a couple of off days like this weekend and when we play you away.

Carrington spies tell us the City kids are right up for this one!

Saturday's ref is our old mate Mark Halsey! Shouls ensure an open flowing game...

It's not how much money you have, but what you do with it that's the key to success. And money alone will not bring you success either, although I think Sparky is the right man to be leading you at this pivotal stage.

The rags are unfortunately the role model we need to take pointers from. They have mixed the local talent of lads who have been with them since kids with international stars resulting in massive success.
Johnny Baguette
will you be supplying BARME CAKES - whatever they are?
merlin
if you keep it on the front page we'll be here but don't hide in the forum!
merlin
Barmcakes mate! What do you lot call them "darn sarff"???

daspecial1...Along with Sparky and the best Youth Academy in the country and now money what more do we need ?
alphieblues
Now the big question is, which team will be surrounding Mark Halsey screaming about decisions tomorrow.....?
Johnny Baguette
You right about money does not necessarily bring success, but if you have the proper foundation at the club in the first place, like a top class fan base and a top class academy, I don't see the need for wholesale changes in the playing staff, but strengthening in the postions that we are weak in. That means retaining the youth element in the club, with Hart, Johnson, Richards, sturridge and others, who will all benefit from world class players that may come to the club in the future.

Celebrating my birthday today...hope to REALLY celebrate it tomorrow.

Many Happy Returns alph!!
Johnny Baguette
Trouble at the Chelsea Mill. Assistant first team coach Steve Clarke has handed in his resignation which has been not accepted by the club.
Johnny Baguette
Happy birthday alphie.
