Robinho v Deco - Let The Battle Begin

Two of the worlds best known footballing superstars, Brazilian Robinho and Portugal's class act Deco will battle it out at the City of Manchester Stadium this Saturday when City host last years Premier League runners-up, Chelsea.

On this occasion, we have decided to focus our attention on Robson de Souza (24) and Deco (31), albeit we could have chosen a number of others. Perhaps we'll focus on them another time.

Robinho

Robinho makes his City debut at the weekend having signed a four-year-deal minutes before the transfer window closed. Chelsea had been firm favourites for his signature throughout the whole summer; nevertheless, Robinho finally came to his senses after snubbing the Stamford Bridge lot.

Deco

Chelsea's main summer signing, Deco came from Barcelona for a cool £8million. It was said that his best days were behind him but having netted twice in only three appearances that argument no longer stands up. By all accounts his performances have been dazzling to say the least.

The video lasts a fraction under 4 minutes.

Robinho did not by any means "snub" us, if chelsea had come in with the cash then he would have not taken a second to come to us, its just cos chelsea dont want to spend stupid money for someone who is not worth it.
SouthendBlue
He snubbed you lot - simple as that!! (ha ha)

"Robinho finally came to his senses after snubbing the Stamford Bridge lot." Nice joke!

Just carrying on from the 'Let The Banter Begin - Chelsea' article.

Only one winner here. Deco all the way

Robinho will make Deco look average!
mcfcthriller
Robinho has his moments but Deco will reign supreme. City fans are already talking up Robinho and you haven't even seen him play yet. Riccy & JT and going to welcome him to the premiership with a few hefty tackles just to show him what his in for in the next 5 months before he goes somewhere else who are offering him more money in Jan

SouthendBlue..You should have had a whip round for the other 2m as we know Roman is a bit strapped for cash !!!

Deco's best years spent at Barca! Robinho's best years to be spent at City! Say no more!

Will he be starting from the beginning or on the bench, lads? I'm coming up for the match on Saturday evening, looking forward to a very good game. It will be very interesting to see how Robinho settles into life in the Premier League over the next couple of weeks, although don't hold your breath for an immediate impact is all I'll say. Players, particularly those with massive price tags, can be weighed down by that pressure and it takes them time to settle down and make an impact. I hope the boy does well for you, I really do, just as long as it all starts post-Saturday! Here's to a cracking match!
daspecial1
Both are very special players. But Robinho is on the up at 24 while Deco has already peaked at Barca -- and is 31. Why Deco thought he had to make so many personal comments about Robinho's move to City I don't know. But we'll all see who is the better footballer on Saturday. I expect Robinho to prove a point to Deco.
Sindbad
I think Zabaleta will be the surprise package. Looks the business. I also predict that we are going to see a lot tackles flying in early doors. Robinho might start on the bench. Deco will have lots of much younger legs racing against him. Midfield the key.
Johnny Baguette
this is going to be one hell of a match - look out for an unlikely hero!

Have to agree with you there merlin.

"Robinho finally came to his senses after snubbing the Stamford Bridge lot." Nice joke! LOOL..If it was up to Robinho he wouldn't even have considered joining your joke of a club. He just wanted to leave Real and you were the only one stupid enough to pay crazy money! And I am very sure, that Robinho has NEVER even watched one of your games and the name of your club is something he surely hasn't heard very often in his life. Meanwhile, you've had enough time to get back down to earth You might have more money but you are still just a shadow of Man United! Nothing more, nothing less. So keep quite!

Sindbad - ''Why Deco thought he had to make so many personal comments about Robinho's move to City I don't know.'' hehehe..It was not only Deco, it was rather the whole world that condemned this transfer! It's like Ronaldo joining Fulham or something like that.
chelsey
oliverblue - ''Deco's best years spent at Barca! Robinho's best years to be spent at City! Say no more!''.. don't wanna make you sad, but a hunch is telling me that he has already spend his best years at Santos...
chelsey
I think the comment from the Chelski fan earlier "just cos chelsea dont want to spend stupid money for someone who is not worth it." Does that not include, Veron £25 million, Crespo £30 million, SWP £24 million, Shevchenko £30 million need I go on. That's over £100 million on utter dog sh**! I think the irony behind that rather unfortunate comment was so large no one noticed it. SouthendBlue, sort it out mate, utter rubbish!
