Robinho v Deco - Let The Battle Begin

Robinho v Deco - Let The Battle Begin

Two of the worlds best known footballing superstars, Brazilian Robinho and Portugal's class act Deco will battle it out at the City of Manchester Stadium this Saturday when City host last years Premier League runners-up, Chelsea.

On this occasion, we have decided to focus our attention on Robson de Souza (24) and Deco (31), albeit we could have chosen a number of others. Perhaps we'll focus on them another time.

Robinho

Robinho makes his City debut at the weekend having signed a four-year-deal minutes before the transfer window closed. Chelsea had been firm favourites for his signature throughout the whole summer; nevertheless, Robinho finally came to his senses after snubbing the Stamford Bridge lot.

Deco

Chelsea's main summer signing, Deco came from Barcelona for a cool £8million. It was said that his best days were behind him but having netted twice in only three appearances that argument no longer stands up. By all accounts his performances have been dazzling to say the least.

The video lasts a fraction under 4 minutes.

Let the battle begin!

Robinho did not by any means "snub" us, if chelsea had come in with the cash then he would have not taken a second to come to us, its just cos chelsea dont want to spend stupid money for someone who is not worth it.

Robinho has his moments but Deco will reign supreme. City fans are already talking up Robinho and you haven't even seen him play yet. Riccy & JT and going to welcome him to the premiership with a few hefty tackles just to show him what his in for in the next 5 months before he goes somewhere else who are offering him more money in Jan

Will he be starting from the beginning or on the bench, lads? I'm coming up for the match on Saturday evening, looking forward to a very good game. It will be very interesting to see how Robinho settles into life in the Premier League over the next couple of weeks, although don't hold your breath for an immediate impact is all I'll say. Players, particularly those with massive price tags, can be weighed down by that pressure and it takes them time to settle down and make an impact. I hope the boy does well for you, I really do, just as long as it all starts post-Saturday! Here's to a cracking match!
