The Lads Were Off The Pace - Mark Hughes

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes spoke to the press after Saturday's home defeat against last seasons Premier League runners-up Chelsea.

'The lads were a bit off the pace and Chelsea were big and strong...but overall we had a number of players making their City debut and we didn't have that much time to work with them...they are a good side Chelsea as everyone knows , we're not at their level yet but we aim to be.'

With four or five of our players having travelled half the world since Thursday it is no wonder they flagged in the second half. It was also the first time that five of our players had played together, with this in mind they showed enough especially in the first half to convince me that they will win or lot more than we lose...The future is bright the future is BLUE !!!

What will you do when the Arabs leave?

All that money, and still you lost .....LOL

I take it "Blue is the colour" you're a Chelsea fan. Your club has spent more on transfers than any in the history of UK football. The average age of your first team is 28, ours is 23 and we have spent relatively nothing compared to you lot. We had many debutantes today. Next time we meet we'll take you apart.

Blue is the Colour, ask us the same question in 18 months time. Agree Alphie they showed they can play at times and to play an excellent Chelsea team they did exceptionally well at times and if they had taken the chances when they came along, could have been two up before Chelsea had realised it.I will ask you the same question Blue is the Colour, what will you do when Abramovich leaves. My answer to your question is I dont know.

Christ, I hope we don't start attracting a load of these modern day money obsessed happy clapper fans like some of the one's we've been hearing from this week!

black is the colour. look who's talking. Arabs are better than Russians because they get their money from oil but Russians (the mafia ......you have there) get it from women,s pu... Plus they didn't spend that much yet.......it was only one day only....wait till winter and you will see. maybe we will see some of your stars playing here .

Chelsea are of course a very good side so it is no disgrace to lose to them this season but you need to beat them next season if you are to progress towards the top four.
