There's no denying it's been a whirlwind couple of weeks at Manchester City. Their new cash saw Robinho put pen-to-paper at the City of Manchester Stadium with a host of other big names being sought as well.

It took a reported £150,000 just to get their South American stars back in time for the match at a packed Eastlands and the Brazilian made sure he didn't disappoint by netting the first from a free-kick.

However, Chelsea showed they are no pushovers and dominated the game from there on in, scoring through Ricardo Carvalho, Frank Lampard and ex-City striker Nicolas Anelka to claim all 3 points.

But for Mark Hughes it was a case of seeing where the team need to improve. Speaking after the match, the City boss said with a few more games under their belt, the team's style will be far better and they'll become much more of a match for opposition teams - not forgetting that they're expected to spend big in January to add to their ever improving squad.

I notice that of the teams that came off the pitch the average age of City was 22 against Chelsea 28 The future sure is bright.

He can be happy indeed! Considering the dominance we have exerted on the pitch a fair result would have been a 5-1 for Chelsea without Terry being sent off to the locker room!

Oh and Terry deserved a red by that dirty fowl, just because he couldn't catch up with Jo, he had to grab him by the waist... That’s called cheating & obstruction you fool!

The truth will out Chelsea. We are going to take you apart later this season at Stamford Bridge.
Sindbad
It will be a different game if we have all our players available.
Buzz Lightyear
He has every right to be positive - we took the game to them for longs periods. We are in for a good season, and hopefully we'll bounce back in resounding fashion on Thursday.
