Micah scoops our award for February

Micah scoops our award for February

Congratulations to Micah Richards, who topped our web poll for the February player of the month, narrowly beating Georgious Samaras who has also had an impressive month. Full results below.

Micah Richards 41%

Georgious Samaras 33%

Sylvain Distin 8%

Joey Barton 8%

Darius Vassell 8%

Richard Dunne 2%

This is a well deserved award for Micah, who although still only 17, has shown he has the skill, strength and confidence to mix it with the Premierships top players.

Obviously the highlight was the equalising goal in the 94th minute at Villa park which has given City another shot at Villa in the FA Cup replay on the 14th, but his performances in the other Premiership matches have been outstanding.

This is also yet another endorsement of our Academy system, which is producing a conveyor belt of young talent who are making it into the first team, so well done also to Jim Cassell and Steve Wigley for bringing these youngsters through!
