No Liverpool Player Would Join City - Dirk Kuyt

Liverpool striker come winger Dirk Kuyt insisted that no first team regular, including Steven Gerrard would ever consider leaving Anfield for Eastlands.

This comes on the back of the recent Manchester City take over and press reports that the club could, and would bid for, only the best players in the world.

Talking in the Guardian broadsheet the 28-year-old Dutch international said...

'We don't talk about Manchester City that much. We know they've got a new owner who has got a lot of money so we'll have to see what happens, but I don't think any Liverpool player would go to Manchester City, because we're a much bigger club.'

'It won't be easy for them, especially if they want the big players. It is possible to buy big players but, if you want to buy big players who are already playing for big clubs, that is much more difficult.'

Talking specifically about Stevie Gerrard, the Kop favourite said...

'Stevie is Liverpool. It would be very difficult to buy him - he'd be a lot of money. But I don't think he'd ever leave Liverpool for Manchester City.'

OB you just have a way with words. exactly, thats why liverpool had to buy more strikers after they got Kuyt.

Dirk Kuyt has been firing blanks all season so far and I don't see that changing today... He wouldn't get a game at City. Our strikeforce can show them how it is done. Liverpool will not like being attacked on both wings, particularly if they play Dossena again on the left. He is nothing like as good as Riise was. He is strong but average in the air and I think SWP will turn past him easily and could give him a torrid time. Their right back Arbeloa is a good defender -- but there is no better side in the Premiership down the left than City. Petrov, Robinho and Jo all have excellent left feet and can shoot on sight as well as run at them. In the last few seasons I have dreaded us playing Liverpool. We have imploded against them so often. But this season we can give them a big surprise. All their confidence could look a bit silly if we get a couple of early goals. The boys can do that now.
