SWP Gets The Capello Call

Manchester City's very own Shaun Wright-Phillips has been included in Fabio Capello 23-man squad to face Kazakhstan and Belarus in England's 2010 World Cup qualifiers.

City boss Mark Hughes was chuffed to bits with SWP's call up and said...

'We are absolutely delighted for him; it is just reward for an outstanding start he has made to the resumption of his City career.'

'He came back to a club he knows well, he is playing with a smile on his face and both Shaun & the Club are benefiting from that.'

Players omitted from the September 'Three Lions' squad include Newcastle United`s fallen hero Michael Owen, Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson and Chelsea's Joe Cole.

Well done, Shaun. He earned it!

Absolutely right Capello -- now you will have to show some real guts and play him. In his current form Shaun can cause problems to any defence...

Good call. There is nothing like playing week in week out to prove what you can do.

Bought two papers this morning. One described the call up as "unjustified" and the other as "a surprise". Nice the see the anti-City campaign is still in full swing! Well done Shaun! You are the best RW in the land!

oliverblue we knew that & that's probably most of the Chelsea fans was relieved (In Vital) to see u tagged the Richest Club. Its just the beginning.A long way to have more tastes of it.U will have bitter taste. But tell me one thing which I am pointing on & on!Don't u feel ashamed how some of ur fans or All! bbos skrtel when he was taken off after that serious injury?
Saimon_blues
You seem to have a hang up about the 0.1% of City fans that booed. You dont seem to mention the 99.9% that gave him an ovation. Every club has idiots, your club included, so I'm not going to getting involved in a debate on it.

SWP deserves a call to the england squad at least we show what he is capiable off doing and the england manager can actually see what he can do

Terrific news. One in the eye for squad rotation.

Saimon-blues... Some of the fans that booed Skyrtel off probably hadn't forgiven him for his Gung-ho kick on Jo that should have had a red card.

I just hope Capello plays him now.......
