14 Games Played & We're Knackered Already - Micah
Manchester City defender Micah Richards told the media that he and many of the players may have only played 14 games since the beginning of the season, but there're knackered, already!
The 20-year-old said...
"What's killing us at the moment is that there are a lot of games and people are starting to get tired already."
"That's the whole point of having a big squad though. We're starting to build that and hopefully we'll be all right."
Feeling wealthy & the future...
"Becoming the richest club overnight is a good feeling but money does not automatically bring success. You've got to make sure you've got the right mix in your squad and I hope we can have that this season."
"Maybe we can get some more players in January and that will allow us to make a big push for the rest of the season."
Following the international break City has to face playing six games in 20 days in the Premier League and UEFA Cup.

Micah - try 12 hour night shifts if you want the true definition of "tired". I'm sure their multi-million pound salaries will compensate the exhaustion of kicking a bag of wind around! Apologies for not showing the slightest tinge of sympathy!

Micah's expectations are very high and he is pushing himself to the limit. He knows our squad needs fundamental improvements to play at the level he and City fans now expect. It's the tiredness which comes from aspiring to be the best you can be.

I heard Michael Vaughan on the radio today in a candid interview. He said what really annoyed him was the criticism that he might not have enough hunger. He said that the last thing he needed was more hunger. He had found that the more he loved playing cricket, the more his cricket skills came through. The more he loved his cricket, the better he would play. I think that is a lesson to us all.

This talk from pro players always bugs me.... when I was that age I could'nt get enough football......ok it was amateur football.....but I worked all week as well, then played Sat and Sun......and played every weekend until I was 47.....
