Stephen Ireland Is Our Best Player Says Hughes

Google language translator

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes sang attacking midfielder Stephen Ireland's praises calling him our best player.

City nearly sold the 22-year-old Irishman to Sunderland in the summer, but thankfully the Eastlands hierarchy saw fit to keep hold of one of the most exciting midfielders in the country.

Talking to the Telegraph the City boss said...

"The thought of good players coming to the club should get you stimulated by the challenge. The prime example of that is Stephen Ireland. People assumed that if new players were coming into the club he would be one that would make way. I never thought in those terms and certainly Stephen never did."

"But if he has thought that was going to be the case then maybe his performances would have been at a lower level. As it is he has really grasped the opportunity he has been given."

Sparky continued...

"He's been our best player from the start of the season up until now and that is all credit to him because he wants to be part of what we are doing here."

"Stephen Ireland is revelling in it. You can see that in his play. He feels a real part of what we do and he is a big part of the team at the moment because of the level of his performances."

Stevie is one of the players who has really responded to the challenges of the new Man City. He wants to be part of success with the club and the way he is playing he would be the first player on the team sheet just now.

no arguments here.. he really seem to have lift his game this season
