'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Have Faith In Our Young Guns

Our web poll shows that the vast majority of you would like to see more of our youngsters given an opportunity in the first team, now that it looks our chances like European qualification via the League are fading.

We asked you...

' Should City experiment with more Academy players in 1st team now that Euro place seems gone? ' and your overwhelming response was:

Yes - Give them a chance: 82%

No - Keep it as it is: 10%

Not sure: 8%

City's youngsters have been a revelation in the last couple of seasons and there are more to come. The Under 18s beat Newcastle 2 - 3 last night in the 1st leg of the Youth Cup semi-final, with Kelvin Etuhu hitting the back of the net again.

With Samaras picking up a knock in Tuesday's game against Villa and Vassell still carrying an injury,Bradley Wright-Phillips could well be in the starting line-up with hot-prospect Ishmael Miller promoted to the bench.

I'd like to see Miller have a run out against Wigan. He and Micah have been sensational in the reserves this season and his size and speed will scare the cr*p out of a lot of defenders - they wont fancy it at all !
