Chelsea Websites - Please Shut Up & Get Over It

Robinho - How many times do we, Manchester City fans have to hear the same old stories about Chelsea feeling scorned.

Quote from a Chelsea fans website...

'Luiz Felipe Scolari was desperate to sign the Brazilian superstar in the summer, but he was left stunned when the 24-year-old joined Manchester City on deadline day for a British record £32.5million.'

'However, the Blues boss is still keen on the former Real Madrid ace.'

'I am sure that Robinho would be the best player in the world if he came to play at Chelsea,' Scolri told O Globo. 'The Chelsea doors are always open to him.'

Vital Manchester City says...

'In the early Roman Abramovich days you lot bought anything and everything with two legs, could kick a football and had a pulse. Now the tide has turned, with a new kid on the block.

'For goodness sake, snap out of it and smell the coffee. We, Manchester City are here and here to stay no matter how much winging we have to hear from the 'southern softies'.'

'Manchester was once known as Red, not anymore, Blue is the colour.'

'Rant over.

Merlin, I wasn't having a go at Vital Chelsea, it's just i'm fed up with reading various other Chelsea fan websites winging about Robinho coming to us and not going to Stamford Bridge. You must admit he is the first world class player ever to have turned you lot down. Sadly for you guys this is the way it will be from now on!!

Robinho is going to become folk law in this part of Manchester. To be honest I don't give a hoot what Chelsea fans think. Please see my reply on the very subject on the City Chat forum.

Good luck to City. Fact is that Chelsea are now on the wrong end of situations where for the last 4 years they were on the right side. If City want to do a Chelsea then good luck to you lot. You supported your team through thick and thin and if any set of supporters deserves the sugar daddy then its you lot. Will be hilarious seeing the Chelsea and United cash wagons derailed! Please buy John Terry for Chelsea as well. ps Merlin, could be argude Chelsea are Champions League pretenders given you have never won it!

Gerrard isn't world class. I'm not party to many Chelsea sites, but surely they're entitled to say "we wanted to sign Robinho" it's true. Over on the Gooner sites many people are lamenting the fact that we didn't get Alonso but Pool fans aren't getting het up about it. Besides, your owner came out and said he would sign Fabregas, Ronaldo and Torres. Thirdly, I was at Eastlands yesterday and when you started chanting "Gallas was right, you're soft as *****e" I thought you summed our team up better than a dozen articles I've written.

I know you don't like Gerrard because of what he said about Theo Walcott Little Dutch, unresonably in my opinion as he was right in what he said, but he is world class. He's on the premier league team of the season each year, and was player of the season in 2005-2006. He's also in the FIFA world player of the year shortlist each year for the past few years. I would call that being world class.

I wouldn't, those awards are a joke that are about nothing more than "which player has the most lucrative boot deal." I don't think Gerrard's world class because for every wonder goal, there's a hundred shots from range with players in better positions, he doesn't tackle well, he hits needless Hollywood passes that are often wasteful and basically plays for himself and nobody else. Benitez knows this which is why he won't play him in central midfield. He's a selfish glory boy, much like van Persie actually. Alonso and Mascherano are much better all round players than Gerrard, who is a decent player who manipulates his press brilliantly. (I notice on the official Liverpool site there was a Steven Gerrard week, much of the praise was authored by Henry Winter respected journalist.....and writer of Gerrard's autobiography). His comments about Walcott sum him up, he was horrible in the 06 World Cup and decided and rolled on a 17 year old boy to absolve himself.

yeah robinho is class and of course chelsea would still want him..if he actually used his brain and wanted to play in a team that reflects his own ability it wouldnt even be a title race. but its never going to happen. of course not. as for a challenge for abu dhabi county?? you're gonna have to wait until you give jose about 1m p/week and unlimited money to even qualify for the champions league.

He didn't roll on a 17 year old boy. He said that Walcott didn't deserve to be part of the England team at that time, and when you consider that Theo didn't even play a minute for Arsenal in the league before he was picked for England, He was right in what he said, especially as Sven only picked four forwards for the world cup, two of which, Owen and Rooney, were coming off injuries. Gerrard criticized the decision to pick Walcott, not the player himself. You're being disingenuous in saying that much of the praise for Gerrard came from Henry Winter . Praise also came from Brian Reade, Thierry Henry, Paul Joyce, Liverpool Echo writer Tony Barrett, academy coach Dave Shannon, Liverpool fan and writer Paul Tomkins, and Rafa. Gerrard scored more than seventy goals the past four years, and assisted on more than fifty in the same period, no other midfielder, other than Lampard, can come close to that level of production, and he's been playing in a lesser team than Chelsea in that period. No matter what you say, he is world class by any definition.

Funny how brave Stevie wasn't interested in speaking out about the decision until the FA had sacked Sven. The World Cup proved Gerrard was out of his depth, just as that fact is showed whenever he plays opposition of any repute. The journalists you name have a common theme don't they? The best example I can give you of press manipulation is Istanbul 05, when Gerrarfd was ridiculously over run by Gattuso and Kaka, somuch so that even at 3-0 down, Benitez had to put Hamann on so consummately was Gerrard being over run. The guy scores 1 goal and we're told that he single handedly won you the trophy, completely ignoring his awful performance and Garcia's valuable goals and Carragher's masterful defensive displays against Juve, Stevie made sure it was him who got all the credit. Gerrard's great for a cracker against Boro or Luton Town, but when it matters and he comes against a Makelele or a Scholes, you see he isn't fit to lace the boots of those players.

IT's the Liverpool official site, of course they will have a theme. What about Thierry Henry, is he a Liverpool fan also? I'll give you an example of your own manipulation, you say that Alonso is a better midfielder than Gerrard, yet he's the one who was over run by Kaka and Pirlo, he was the holding midfielder in that game after all. Gerrard was the second highest goal scorer for Liverpool in the 2005 CL run after Garcia, as he was in the 2007 CL run after Crouch, and he was our top scorer in the 2008 CL run. He scored in a CL final, a UEFA Cup final, a FA Cup final, and a League Cup final, winning them all. He was played out of position in the 2006 world cup, yet he was England's joint top scorer. He scored against some of the biggest clubs in Europe like Manu, Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter, Milan, Porto, Marseille, PSV, Olympiakos, etc... I say again, no matter what you say, Gerrard is a world class player.

I am a Chelsea fan and totally agree with this sentiment. Some of the whinging I heard when he went to Man City was ridiculous. Yes, I would have liked to see him play for us but the statements that some of our fans came out with were embarrassing.
