With the January transfer window just a mere five weeks away, the tabloid hacks are feverously busy thinking away at which player they can link Manchester City with next.

Let the fun begin

Since the ADUG takeover, Blues fans have accustomed themselves to the daily dose of potential player links. If it's not Joe Bloggs today it will be his cousin tomorrow.

Here is a list, albeit not exhaustive, of who we can expect in January!

Kolo Toure - Arsenal
Wayne Bridge - Chelsea
Lukas Podolski - Bayern Munich
Christopher Samba - Blackburn
Kaka - AC Milan
John Terry - Chelsea
Gianluigi Buffon - Juventus
Roque Santa Cruz - Blackburn
Sergio Aguero - Athletico Madrid
Michael Owen - Newcastle

The Sun reports...

'Manchester City is reported to be preparing a staggering £20million offer for Chelsea and England midfielder Ashley Cole.'

'City's billionaire owners are understood to want to exploit Cole's current contract situation and offer the 27-year-old £130,000-a-week - almost £50,000 more than Chelsea pay him now.'

Yeah right!

Portsmouth's Lassana Diarra

The Sun believes a senior City source has told them that City are close to signing Portsmouth's Lassana Diarra for £18m.

The Sun's source said...

'The Diarra deal is almost done.'

The Daily Mirror also pipes up with another so-called transfer sensation...

'City manager Mark Hughes also has his eye on Hull's Michael Turner, and has put aside £6 million of his spending money for the 25-year-old defender.'

'Tipped as one of the most impressive defenders in the Premier League this campaign, Turner has only recently signed a new contract with Hull.'

'However, with strong speculation regarding his potential as an England player, Turner may see a move to City as a means to get himself noticed.'

I wonder who we'll be talking about tomorrow?

Last month I listed the players that we were linked with in October which totalled 18. This month started quietly and I thought the hacks were leaving us alone but recently the activity has cranked up and at the moment we have been linked with 21 players I will again list the full total at the end of the month.

this list could end up bigger than anyone can imagine......there WILL be others that wont even be reported in the news.....and we wont know thme until they actually sign.......interesting times.....very interesting.....

I have happy the way u linked bcoz it senses a fanatasy rather than reality.Ok couple of them looks very possible but Kaka,Terry is laughable. And it will be interesting to see how we do business withu u. U know money u know us but u still don't know Roman. We r not in crisis. We may not buy big but still no need to sell our stars. If we prevent our players from Jose Mourinho why not U?U still don't have Champions League Football So money or Standard Level. Its a choice between two?If money is it them many of our players have already benn playing in MLS or ur SHEIKH'S COUNTRY.LOL

We'll see how much truth there is in these stories in 5-6 weeks!

It will probably be the same as usual and that the players we sign will not have had a mention in the media....They always get it wrong.
