City Can Attract World Class Players

Google language translator

Manchester City manager Mark Hughes believes the club is now on the radar of the world's top players.

Talking to the media prior to the Manchester derby, Sparky said...

'It is exciting times here and we will start the process of recruiting in January. Every top player in the world at some point in their career would like to play in the Premier League.'

'I think that is a given as it is the strongest league in the world at the moment and we are obviously an option now.'

Speculation

Hughes continued...

'Maybe three months or so ago top players would not consider coming to Manchester City because of our circumstances and maybe the fact our means are not as great as they are now.'

'People will talk about us being able to attract top players and we have the resources to do that. What I am looking to do is to add to the quality already here.'

'It is about getting a balance and the make-up of the team and the squad correct. If we can do that we can only get better.'

'We are trying to build a club that will sustain success in the future. That takes time but we are working to that end.'

I think that little commodity called MONEY might have something to do with attracting them :-)
merlin
MONEY is the attraction, agree merlin.
The Fear
Merlin, please share with us if you may how the Premiership minnow Chelsea built their first team squad. Perhaps you could cite the long list of Academy graduates Chelsea have developed... Is it all about money at Chelsea, Merlin? Or was it that Gianfranco Zola, Roberto Di Matteo, Gianluca Vialli and Gus Poyet joined you because they fell in love with the Chelsea fans? Is the Chelsea emergence all about money?
Sindbad
SWP, Robinho, Kompany, Ireland, Zabaleta, Elano, Hart, Petrov, Dunne, Richards. We already have world class players at City.
Sindbad
money is a big attraction... so is your potential now for sucsess. which players do you intend to start with?
pompeycarpet
I think you're being very kind to count Ireland, Kompany, Zabaleta, Elano, Hart (though he has the potential to become world-class) and Dunne as world-class. SWP on his day can be world class. Petrov is superb so I'll give you him and Richards is very borderline. I would say he's not world-class yet. Anyway, I've always liked City and if you beat the sc*m tomorrow, I'll like you even more. Good luck!
Aamir
Sindbad - CLEARLY someone doesnt know the definiton of world class! Hahaha!! If you think all those players are world class then I say O'Shea and Fletcher are world class too!

City are the envy of every club in the UK. Don't ya just love it?
Tudor
Just been reading 442. Camel Gob Ferdinand voted NINTH best player in the world. Robinho? Number 42. There's world class.
Johnny Baguette
Different players, they should divide them into defence midfield and attack. We should sign the CB who is better than Camel Gob.
