Elano Blumer On His Way Out Of SportCity?

Google language translator

Sport.es has already reported last weekend that Elano had been offered to Espanyol by City.

skysports.com is now running a story backing that report up.

Espanyol have a new management team in place and are considering their options. No doubt his salary will be a big factor.

Paco Herrera, Espanyol's Sport Director told skysports.com:

'We have received the offer for the loan but have still not given an answer,'

Elano's time at City started so fantastically well and the quicksilver Brazilian set the bar very high early on.

But his performances this season have been a pale shadow of those we saw in the first few months under Sven-Goran Eriksson.

Most notably his public outburst over a lack of starts for City this season being followed up by some abysmal showings looks likely to have convinced Mark Hughes, who to his credit has given almost every fit squad member a crack this season, that he's seen enough.

i will be gutted to see him go, because he provided some wonderful moments last season. he linked up well with petrov and he was our vocal point of our attacks. the blue print was left by sven and hughes has ripped it up for some wacky, shambolic , tactic, fomation, thingy he is now inflcting on the players and fans. my wish would be for hughes to leave and elano to stay and regain last years form (richards, dunne, hamman aswell) its the managers choice and elano shouldnt have gone to press to complain.... but robinho recently slagged of the team and nothing was done, ball and hamman wouldnt warm up against hull and nothing was done. such inconsistancies and lack of leadership will create a division in dressing room. if elano goes, robinho wount be happy, jo is having nightmare. the brasil connection will all look to leave now. thanks for the magic moments elano, all the best son

firstly....how can we loan out players when we have got such a small and injury ridden squad.....second.....he has not played the same this year cos he has been played out of position....third.....look what happened when we got rid of Giovanni, he has been brilliant for Hull.....forth.....cant think of owt right now....

agreed lincolnblue. knowing city, we will sell him to spurs or newcastle and elano will come back to haunt us.

Some players only perform well if they are playing regularly and for some reason Elano is not being selected on a regular basis, of course he is going to have an off day every now and again, but he needs to play. Like Enzo City I too will be upset to see one of our most talented players we have seen in a blue shirt move on, especially when there are some far worse players than him.

Elano appealed to the fans when he went to the Press. He was being forced out. The whole thing leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth. Elano last season -- our top goalscorer. This season, how has it come to this? You won't get me blaming Elano. Even if you were Aston Villa you couldn't replace a player like Elano for less than £8M. For City the price will be more than £15M. Was it really worth that much to lose him?
