Apathetic City's UEFA Campaign Returns To Denmark

Google language translator

Low cost airlines websites are already creaking as Planet Blue logs in to follow City in Europe. Next stop FC Copenhagen...

The UEFA Cup draw for the last 32 of this season's tournament in Nyon today dictated that City's 11th UEFA Cup game of the season will take place in Copenhagen on either Wedesday 18th or Thursday 19th February 2009.

The return leg at Eastlands is confirmed for Thursday, 26th February.

FC Copenhagen are no mugs in the Danish SAS-Ligaen, currently in 2nd position and cannot be underestimated in Europe, even though they finished third in Group G behind Saint Etienne and Valencia.

Copenhagen might well get plenty of support from Denmark's very own FC Midtjylland whom City beat on penalties back in August.

Should City defeat the Danes, then we will go on to possibly face our third Danish opponents of the season in AaB Aalborg or Spain's Deportivo La Coruna.

Considering some of City's increasingly shocking displays, what an opportunity to progress this draw has given the club.

For now, that opportunity can go on hold for two months while the situation within the City squad and increasing failure in the Premier League are urgently addressed.

what an easy walk to the last 8 compared to ours!

Aston Villa have always had a cross to bear. For some reason it will always be harder for Villans than for any other team. Maybe it is an immutable law? Or maybe because your manager has to spin everything.

All is well. How did you guys get into the Uefa cup again? Fairplay league? Wtf is that? Well deserved.

We certainly won't be qualifying by the Fair Play this card strewn season!
