Portsmouth Prepared To Sell Jermain Defoe

Google language translator

Portsmouth's executive chairman Peter Storrie has gone on record to say the club would be willing to sell the England striker.

The story comes amid speculation that Manchester City has shown an interest in the 26-year-old forward, however, Defoe is just one of many who have been linked with the Eastlands club.

Peter Storrie told the press...

'It looks like Jermain wants to go. That is something we will be speaking to him about,'

'If Jermain goes it will be at our price and if there is an offer which appeals. We have always said we do not keep people who do not want to play for Portsmouth. We do not have to sell anyone but if he wants to go that is a different matter.'

if he wants out and you want him show us the colour of your money and he is yours... ive backed the fella, but now feel a mug 'if' he genuinely is the one that wants out...

Pay Pompei 50 million.

I think they should get what we got for Distin, who will take them on their way to the Championship.

So many teams seem to have players they are prepared to sell to City at inflated prices. But Bluesy has said he won't be held to ransom and will buy only those players who add balance and quality to the side. Defoe is s good player, but we already have strength in depth of pacy, skilful ttacking midfielders and forwards: SWP, Robinho, Vassell, Ireland ... Our more pressing need is for a big and strong target man who can hold the ball up for our flair players, and also chip in with some goals. My preference would be to buy the player Pompey don't want to sell -- Peter Crouch, he would add something new to us.

you don't need him, and I wouldnt wish him on you guys. Defoe is a grumpy, miserable sod, who only plays well when it suits him (admitidly, he can be VERY good... but mostly he's very bad). Why not try to get someone decent like David Villa?!

I dont think he would be right for us......there are much better strikers out there for the sort of money we would have to pay for him.....
