Harry Redknapp Looses Sleep Over Man City

Google language translator

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp fears that Manchester City's presence in the January transfer market may encourage club chairman to inflate their player's asking prices.

'arry, who lives in the posh area of Bournemouth, (Sandbanks) said...

"Everyone thinks Man City are going to come in and pay way over the odds for everybody because of the money they've got, but I don't think they will."

"Mark Hughes is a very clever manager, he might want the players but I don't think he'll sit back and let the owners pay vastly inflated fees for players he does not feel are worth that kind of money."

"I think that is the key, if a chairman hears Man City might be interested in one of their players they could say, 'Let's hang on and we could double our money'. If we could agree a fee with Portsmouth [for Defoe] then fine he's a good player. I have a little list and if we don't get one we can move to another. We are getting quoted some silly prices."

The transfer window is well and truly open, but who do you think will be our first January signing? Our forums are open 24/7, and so if you City fans and have any interest in the forthcoming events, why not register on Vital Manchester City - NOW and tell us what you think.

Redknapp is a very canny manager. He is already using the Press to start his negotiations for players. Hughes will be up against him if he's after tried and tested Premiership players. This little missive is already telling Portsmouth that if they don't accept his offer then he'll move on. City will learn a lot about transfer negotiations this month and hopefully we'll see how really good Hughes is at it.

Harry just said what is true, If spurs want the same player man city want then the selling club will realize they can start a bidding war because man city are the richest club in the world. The problem is city will have to pay over the odds because clubs will try to get as much as they can, it probably wont effect them one bit though.

Redknapp is a man with no style or class and a somewhat dodgy reputation. The way he taps up and unsettles players via the media is disgusting and surely cannot be within the rules. It is is a shame that he appears to be rather good at his job when he operates with no scruples. The way Spurs quite rightly went crazy when Berbatov was unsettled and tapped up you'd think they would at least not then let him do the same thing to Defoe. He never while managing Portsmouth missed an opportunity to put the knife in to City and when we put six passed them he never gave City one word of credit. One has to wonder if he was refused an interview at City sometime in the past. Do we really as a Club want to conduct our transfers like this barrow boy? I hope not. If Clubs and fans want to hate us let it just be sheer jealousy of our money, let it not be that we behave in a way that shows no respect to them, the rules or their fans. Everything Redknapp says I treat with contempt.

City girl: spurs never went crazy we only held out for a better price. As for tapping up it goes on all the time, i personally think its wrong but trust me redknapp is not the only one doing it most managers do it whether its through the press or through an agent. Even man city have tapped up a player it goes on at every football club in the prem believe me.

There is no doubt that Harry is a very canny manager, but there is also no doubt that he bends the rules on occasion, he managed to lure (poach) james, Cole & Distin from City to go & play for Pompey and that's no mean feat when you see the ground they have to ply their trade in!

Bagpuss Rednapp looks like he has lost 50 years of sleep already - his eye bags have consumed his entire face. Old 'Arry just wants to grab a bargain in the January sales. The price of players surely can't be more inflated than the egos of Tottenham fans!
