Well, provided it's true, then you'll have a classy left-back! Actually, I am kind of sad about it, since he is a good player and a nice bloke. I'd rather have Cashley Cole sold - this money-hunting- machine.

A great signing and a real solution to Michael Ball from a Newcastle fan's perspective. We'd love a Bridge type player but unfortunately your Arab money talks. Big style.

You'll be getting a quality defender on your books, and a great guy to boot! I'll be sad to see him leave, but £12m for a player that's likely to make only a handful of appearances this season is hard to turn down.

sorry to see him go he'll always be a legend after that GOAL that he scored at Highbury to knock Arsenal out of the CL!

Solid first signing if true, and the times are 20% right with their transfer stories apparantly

Taiwo was my first choice, but id rather have Bridge over Warnock and Lahm :) Im sure he wouldnt take long to settle in the team either which is a plus.

Can't say I am excited by him coming at that price or at all, if I am being honest. £6M is his true valuation. So much to not being fleeced. I have already stated on another post the superior skilled and more pacy international left backs available for that price. I suppose at least it gives Chelsea some cash to help them stop Utd winning the title and we get someone better than the limited Michael Ball. Chelsea replaced him soon enough in their first team so I suppose when we finally get a decent manager he will end up happily warming our bench too.

Seriously, I would rather give you Ashley Cole. Wayne was one of the big signings made by us when we got our cash injections... And I prefer him as a person and a player to Ashley Cole.

I will take your word for it Legend of Zola. I would rather have Zhirkov or Adriano of Sevilla who are far better. As you have a quality manager you will no doubt get to see one or the other gracing your ground sometime soon. I assure you if you get either you will not miss Bridge. We are good at that paying top dollar for other clubs rejects to finance their improvements ala Benjani/Defoe. The easiest position to fill with real world class quality and Hughes chooses a bench warmer at Chelsea and pays double his value, typical.
