Lampard is too old and slow????!!!! Wow man, I take it you dont watch Chelsea matches!!! His game aint based on speed, and he's just turned 30!! He is one of the finest midfielders in the world, and you will be deluding yourself if you dont agree!
JT_daniel
i think the next one in will be someone we havent been linked in the press with yet,bu tfailing that ill settle for either buffon, kaka, or maybe even cannavaro!!!! however if its bellamy i might not be so happy!

Maybe someone will be snapped up in a major surprise, but of course it won't be Lampard. He's not a patch on De Rossi or Kaka anyway. The Press seems convinced it'll be Santa Cruz next -- but if the price is now £20M, I'd rather we went for Michael Owen.
Sindbad
RSC is not worth £20million, however Samuel Eto'o is worth every penny at £50m (ish).
Tudor
Michael Owen & shay Given double.

when did we actually sign Bridge? knowing City anything can happen from now and when he signs on that dotted line? my bets is failing a medical.
amcollinz
It is not a done deal yet. Although our bid has been accepted it is now up to the player to agree terms and pass a medical in time to be unveiled before the match tomorrow.

david villa, toure and marcos senna are man citys targets hopefully u dont get any of them as u dont deserve them if we know they go to man city we know there money grabbers

If you'll do any better than getting the bench players of top teams (Bridge, SWP) I'd be thoroughly surprised. Say you capture eleven of "not-quite good enough, but still good" players...it's reasonable you'll escape the relegation zone and finish a healthy ninth place this season! Oh, I'm just kidding. Relax, relax. But seriously, you won't capture any top players in January.

RadioactiveD - Time will tell. 30 days and counting left. I hope for De Rossi or Cambiasso in midfield- Kaka would do nicely too! I hope for Villa, Eto'o (but not at the 60m quoted), Adriano or Podolski.
eighthsin
well it could be absolutely anybody........and I still think there will be one or two that havent been linked with us........
lincolnblue
Lets put it this way you can have Defoe for 50mil...Ok?...Ok 60 then!...Look 70mil and not a penny less!!!
pentonpompey
Get used to it lads, we'll ALL be upping the Ante when City come knocking, and you mugs will have to pay it!
pentonpompey
eighthsin: being hopeful is fine. but being realistic deflects the disappointment you may feel when you don't sign the very players you mentioned. why would they come to man city? or better yet, why would they leave roma, inter, milan, etc, for a club aspiring for big things when they're already at clubs accomplishing big things? that's sort of how i look at it. podolski is the only player who would make any sense, but if you know his personal situation, he's sentimentally attached to FC Koln, a club that basically worships him. plus, i believe that's where his family live. he'll return there now that they're firmly in the bundesliga.
