Man City Will Bid For Santa Cruz & Scott Parker

Man City Will Bid For Santa Cruz & Scott Parker

Google language translator

Monday 5 January 2009 - Sky Sports News has announced that their sources have told them that Manchester City is on the verge of bidding for Roque Santa Cruz & Scott Parker.

Roque Santa Cruz

The Blackburn Rovers striker has been on top of Mark Hughes wanted list for sometime now, and at last, Manchester City are believed to be within 24 hours of placing a formal bid for the 27-year-old forward.

Scott Parker

West Ham United told Sky Sports earlier this morning that their midfielder, Scott Parker was not for sale, nevertheless, with their owner reportedly in the financial mire, an expected £11million bid for the Englishman would be reluctantly accepted by the Hammers board.

City fans can expect an official announcement within days.

We need players in and quickly, not last minute jobs.

I think Hughes is going about this in the wrong way. Fine you need additions and fast, but from what i've heard he's given up on a majority of the current side because of their laxed attitude. I'm sorry, but you just don't do that! That's total unprofessional not just on the players' part but on Sparky's part too. Signing players like Parker, who is good at best, on a 70,000 + a week contract stinks of panic to me. Not a good move at all, I would have taken him a few seasons ago in his Charlton days but for me he is far too casual, perhaps this move would reinvigorate his career, im not sure. Don't get me started on 12 million for Bridge! he's a very good left back but that's a lot of money to be paying in my opinion. In that case Joleon Lescott is worth atleast 17 million! I just hope you don't get held to ransom for Santa Cruz and Parker, but as they say you pay a premium in this market. I just hope your manager knows what he's doing because i can see the chop looming come summertime. He won't endear himself to the Arabs if he wastes their money.

How many has Santa Cruz scored this season? 5? I'm not sure hes worth it, we should spend £9.6m on Podolski, put him on the left and have Robinho up front alongside Jo as I think he would come into his own partnered with Robinho. I heard a rumour today that Wenger's going to use Toure in a player + cash deal to take Stephen Ireland. I hope not!

I can't see Ireland being someone Wenger would want! Good player but not foreign!

Santa cruz will flop at city, hes a true definition of a one season wonder. Analyse his goalscoring record throughout his career. Parker will make a impression, but he is no better than ireland or kompany. So whats the point getting him. If most fans are in agreement than hughes needs money (not his own mangerial skills) to change citys league form around. Isnt this prove that he isnt the right man for the job. Pulis, big sam, southgate etc aint relying on billions. Why I am only one seeing this. Its soooooooo frustrating!

Blimey, first Bridge now Parker! I seem to remember a similar spending spree not so many years ago... I'll spare you the time and skip to the results - Bridge is quality and good enough to stay in any team. Parker isn't.

Parker? why not Senna/Yaya Toure/Xabi Alonso/Defour/Witzel/Cambiasso.... for possibly less money or even Bullard and Hangeland for the same cash if he wants Premiership. We might as well go for continental top quality if 2nd rate premiership journeymen are going to cost us the same. Podolski half the price of one season wonder sicknote Santa Cruz is a no brainer surely?
