City Bellamy Pursuit Could Yet See Us All Relieved

Google language translator

Planet Blue has long dreaded the hacks rumours that Mark Hughes wants to sign Craig Bellamy. Thankfully, it seems he doesn't want to join us...

It seems the old adage that there's no smoke without fire holds some weight in what was once Fleet Street. If it weren't embarrassing enough for us to accept that for all City's resources, Mark Hughes sees the likes of West Ham's Bellamy as an asset worth pursuing, it now transpires that the 'Welsh Dickov' doesn't want to leave London for Eastlands.

Today's Grauniad quotes 'an Upton Park executive' that City have 'made two substantial bids and are desperate to sign' the unpredictable tapper.

The report goes on to say that the player is holding out for a move to Tottenham Hotspur. This backs up a theory knocking around our Vital MC Forums that the England based journeymen Hughes is pursuing to dig City out of a dangerous mid season hole might not move to City because they know they could well be out of a job this summer when Europe's big guns will be ready to do business with their superstars.

This episode underlines again the extreme difficulty in making things happen during a January transfer window.

Yet the Rag Mirror this morning quotes that Bellamy will be joining us for an increased bid of £10 million to the dismay of Blues worldwide considering the journeyman's track record.

Furthermore, yes, we need reinforcements urgently and Premier League experience would be beneficial for the immediate impact our situation needs.

But if Hughes remains tunnel visioned over the players he is intent upon bringing to Eastlands simply because he knows them, then increased knowledge of him needing to pay well over the odds with a degree of desperation to obtain their services will not go down at all well with a City faithful who are fast running out of patience.

If he is relying on players he knows to dig us out of a hole, as it has been put, how the hell is he going to manage players that come in this summer that he doesn't know. Is this the kind of Manager we want ???

Mancini 'rumoured' to be meeting Manchester City connections?

Think it's refreshing to hear a professional footballer put their ego to one side and admit they're too crap to play for us. If only deadly darius had taken a leaf out of Craig's book.

Good read JB, but the story comes from the mirror and I cannot remember when they got one right about us, until after the contract was signed.

I am pleased Mr Bellamy has a preference for a white Spurs shirt over a blue City one. I sympathise and indeed empathise with him over that. I actually have a preference for a bout of the vomiting virus over seeing him play for City.
