Hamann Hobbles Off Into The Horizon

Google language translator

Manchester City FC has confirmed that midfielder Dietmar Hamann has been ruled out for up to three months with a toe injury.

Hamann, capped 59 times by his native Germany ruptured a tendon in training on Monday while kicking a ball.

Manager Mark Hughes said...

'He will go over to Zurich today (Wednesday) to see a surgeon that he has seen with a similar injury before. The feeling is that it is the same thing that has happened before. The best case scenario is that it will be nine weeks, but it could be 12.'

'Obviously it is a blow for Didi; we are a bit light in midfield areas so we could have done without this. Until the surgeon looks at him we can't say whether we may have better news on it.'

Not sorry to see him go ... personal feeling but I always reckoned he was overated in his latter years
Doody
Agreed Doody. The Schalke game was a classy performance but I think it took it out of him and I don't think he is one of Hughes' men either following that refusal to warm up episode at Bolton. So that's another big salary injured. What's going on in training??
Johnny Baguette
Surely a professional footballer should be able to kick a football without getting injured? He probably refused to warm up again. I think this is a sign from above that WE NEED VAN BOMMEL - NOW!
darryl28
