Kaka says no: http://www.setanta.com//uk/Articles/Football/2009/1/14/Premier-League-Milan-on-Kaka-meeting/gnid-35364/

Yep. No says Kaka!
JT_daniel
Are you surprised JB? What surpsies me more is the expectation that the poll suggests that he will sign this January.
Buzz Lightyear
I sense a degree of desperation across Planet Blue, Buzz. Mirrored at the club. Cook and Hughes have both ill advisedly raised expectations at different times and their over inflated bids are being brutally exposed as clubs and players stand off. The vast majority of Blues are horrified at the prospect of Bellamy in a City shirt for starters. Many were hoping a Kaka signing would stop Hughes from embarrassingly going back a third time for both Bellamy and RSC.
Johnny Baguette
I dont think the Kaka deal will happen, we simply are not a good enough team yet to tempt him. I don't know why he is persistantly chasing Bellendamy, there must be others out there that can do a job for us, but I do go back to why are we chasing a striker?
Buzz Lightyear
the money they are talking is obscene and immoral. £500k a week. Don't care what club or who the owners are, the football authorities should put a stop to such things. Would hate it at my club and at any other club. Just not right. What do you City fans think?
The Fear
Agree The Fear, the wages alone are almost 5 times the current highest, surely City fans are relieved its not happening?
CoxintheBox
that will be good he will make man city move up the table and he will be the best player at the club.

Villa fan here. Now while i love Kaka, and to me he is the best player in the world and also my favorite. The money that is being quoted is ridculous. £100-£175 million and £500,000 a week, nobody is worth that. Also i can't believe your lot are not using common sense. If it is true about it being £100 million, then why diden't they just use that money to buy 4, 5, 6 class players to strengthen the team. Because then you would have more chance to survive and move up the table with those players. And it is not really in midfield you need strengthen, surelly its at the back you need players first. UTV

Johnny/Buzz: I agree it was a lovely diversion and more than a bit of fun from the horror of imagining Bellamy et al in a City shirt. I also had more than a bit of fun fending off the jealousy on the other thread. Fear/Cox: I am not sure if I should be embarassed to admit that it did not bother me the money as it is all about supply and demand. The reality of Citys current position in world football with an unfashionable manager and no CL has to be quantified as well. Surely, genius should not be valued on the same scale as everyone else. If I gave it much thought, I would have to say anything over £10k/wk is obscene for most players when you consider stopping, controlling and kicking a ball accurately to a teammate looks beyond them. I would prefer Kaka at City than not as there is no way he would have come unless he was promised top class reinforcements as his teammates(which would rule out the Bellamys of this world). Top quality would want to play with him as it would add gravitas to Citys project and help fasttrack it. However, I am not unhappy as our owner doesn't appear the type to have a plan with just one option. I am not as convinced as you all are that the door is completely shut on this anyway. We have to sign quality now. Surely Hughes can see how close we were with this. No other club has got more than a f*** o** from Milan over the years when they have tried to sign Kaka. We actually made them think about it (we have not had an official no he is not for sale from AC Milan to my knowledge). Ironic that we came closer to signing him than the journeymen we have been chasing recently. It may horrify you all but I thought £ for £ Kaka would be better value for money than Bellamy/Santa Cruz too.
City Girl
City Girl, It is not often I post anything but I must say that your posts are always worth reading even though I do not always agree with everything you have to say, more often than not I do. I particularly like it when you put fans from other clubs straight (particularly the rags fans). I went onto the vital rags site today to see why Foreverunited kept putting posts on our site and found that barely anyone posts on theirs - perhaps because it is not in Japanese! I must take my hat off to you for your fantastic knowledge about all things football, I certainly have learnt one or two things from you which I have used in the pub at any opporunity.I agree that £ for £ Kaka is worth far more than Bellamy and Santa Cruz and I don't think the pair are worth £15m together and we should now forget about them and look for better and cheeper options even though money is no object. I fail to see why, if there is the reported unrest in the dressing room, why we would want Bellamy anyway! I don't think that a striker is our priority anyway and I don't think we really need one as Bojinov will hopefully be back soon plus I think Jo should be given a better chance in a 4-4-2. I think we really need a good partner for Kompany and another decent defender. I digress, keep up the good work City Girl, I hope you have a job which youe talent and knowledge deserve, I would pay you the equivalent of Kaka's wages in whatever you do! P.S. lets sign Van Bommell just to keep Buzz or Alphie or whoever it is that keeps mentioning him happy!

City Girl. You should come inside on the forums. I enjoy your posts, we don't always see eye to eye but thats the fun of it.The amount of money on offer is ridiculous, the the posts which suggest that there should now be a ceiling on things, did they post that when Rooneyt and berbatov were purchased, our own Shaun Wright Phillips was sold for £21m and got this club out of a debt ridden hole. All that ADUG are doing is to capture another star player, this they hope will encourage others. The money that City has means they can bargain for a player with the rest of the clubs, but It does not mean they will sign everfyone on the market.
Buzz Lightyear
Saw this one on Newsnow and this is the way to do it. ADUG give a club a chance to make money, with which they can do a lot with. The lad himself hesitates and the whole deal is published in the press. Not the way to do a deal. Reports suggest that Milan have had there chance and even if they change their minds the deal is now off the table. We apparently are after another Striker, who I understand is close to signing says the report.http://www.arabianbusiness.com/543692-abu-dhabi-withdraws-150mn-bid-for-kaka
Buzz Lightyear
I wonder who this other striker is ( from Italy )......
lincolnblue
They don't muck about LB, you get the offer, its a take it or leave it one time only yes or no, it's not a maybe. The second signing, which they say is close looks like is being dealt with correctly, nothing public until the deal is done. Thats they way I hope it is anyway.
Buzz Lightyear
Rolando Bianchi?
Johnny Baguette
As long as its not Crapadi!!
Buzz Lightyear
We have already bid three times for Crapadi but WHU have said no
Doody
romancity/buzz thanks for the complements. It was nice to read after a few days sick.
