Craig Bellamy Is A Blue

Google language translator

This was always going to be controversial but Craig Bellamy has signed for City on a four year deal from The Hammers...

The much travelled 29 year old was bought for an undisclosed fee but the result of a fourth bid for his services is thought to be in the region of £14 million. Of course that is seriously steep considering he will be 30 this year and cannot be described as prolific.

The Wales International brings more baggage than Ringway with him, but we are going to have to come to terms with it and trust Mark Hughes' judgement at a crucial phase in our season.

This personally disappointed correspondent's chief concern is what effect the signing of a striker heading into his 30's will have upon our Academy forwards, most notably the yet to sign on Daniel Sturridge.

Let's see who Hughes drops at his expense for Newcastle.

Still, it's never a dull moment at Manchester City regardless of who's in charge and Bellamy's controversial signing is no exception.

Bellamy is a legend! This will surely make up Kaka's mind?
darryl28
So what happens to Jo, Benji, Sturridge or are you going to be adopting a 4-4-2??
ForeverUnited
oh yea AND Bojinov....?

I have to say I am one of the minority of spurs fans who is dissapointed that he wont be coming to WHL, but I have to say I dont understand where he fits in to the City Blueprint.. I thought your main priority should have been Roque santa Cruz or similar (although you may still get him) but I agree the signings of the likes of CB will surely inhibit the progress of the likes of Sturridge and Michael Johnson, which would be a shame for the youngsters at the club.

Good luck with him guys, as a Hammer I have been disappointed with his attitude. We stuck with him through injury, he gives us 4 or 5 decent games, then pushes for one last pay day. 14 million is good business for us.

....and don't forget our other strikers Vassell, Evans and Arshavin...

Well my bad dream has come to pass. So now he has pulled on the shirt it is time to get behind him until he proves he is not worthy of it.

Cheers suckers. At least we've got some of our petrol money back! 18 months & 6 goals. Obviously well worth £14 million. Don't suppose Mark Hughes has mentioned Nigel Quashi has he?
Iron57
Can't understand this one but everyone deserves a chance!

Lord have mercy. Let's get rid of this Feel Caution Factor and get back on the Feel Good Factor with another one in sharpish. City's passengers, wasters and chancers who have shamed us, the taxi's are arriving on Ashton New Road.
Johnny Baguette
This time a year ago we could have got Anelka for that kind of money. Oh well.

Kaka's staying at Milan. Official. Berlusconi just confirmed on national TV. Looks like money can't buy you everything
Saf 91
Come Ribery you we will be better for us than Kaka .

January, 2 years ago. We (West Ham) blew big money on half decent players in the midst of a relegation battle. You're two years behind West Ham. I doubt the big four are ****ting it. Nonetheless, I'll be happy if it all comes good and you overtake your City rivals... once you've scraped me off the floor.
Adam Mansell
Just one (serious) question re: Bellamy - why?!!!! Frankly, even without all the money in the world, I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole but with it, is there really no one better? You can have Drogba for twice Bellamy's fee if you like! We bought Anelka for less than this a year ago. Seems a very odd deal to me and another nail in Hughes' coffin I fear!
SpanishBlue
that is the worst piece of business that the january transfer window is going to see. i mean bellamy-are u serious, all the money that man city have and bellamy is the best that they come up with. what a joke!! never b a top 4 club with signings like that-fact.
supersibon
Well, Mr Bellamy, let's see what you are capable of then. Hughes has confidence in you, so you get a chance to impress. Do the business and we'll love you. Mess up and you'll be dog poop.
Sindbad
Are the Citeh fans happy, mixed or angry?

I always give everyone a chance who pulls on a City shirt.......so now its all down to Bellamy to prove to me and a hell of a lot of other people that they are wrong about him...!!!
lincolnblue
Fair enough but do you think he will or will be be looking for his 9th club in the next year or two, having annoyed everyone at City intensely?
SpanishBlue
Place your bets!
Johnny Baguette
Hmm I smell long term Bellarmy doggy doo with 'Bluesy's successor wielding the poop scoop this time next year. Around the same time as 'the Studge' notches his first hat-trick in the EPL although sadly not for us.
