Return of the Prodigal Son?

Return of the Prodigal Son?

There have been a few reports circulating of a possible summer swoop for Paul Dickov.

At 33 he's reaching the twilight of his career, but assuming Blackburn won't demand a massive fee, I for one would love to see him back.

He's probably got another 2 or 3 seasons left in him, and his experience would be invaluable given the number of the young kids coming through at the moment.

Whether Barton stays or not, the return of Dickov would certainly add more desperately needed steel and drive into the team.

Do players that return to previous clubs ever recapture former glories, or is it a mistake to come back once you've left?
