£25m Bid For Santa Cruz But Times Running Out

Google language translator

Manchester City has put a late bid in for Blackburn Rovers striker, Roque Santa Cruz.

With only 30 minutes left on the transfer window City have bowed to Rovers demand and it is believed the transfer may go through on time.

Because of the bad weather, the Football Association has extended the window by a few hours but only if the clubs involved can prove the deal was agreed prior to the 1700 hours GMT deadline.

bluemanc100
they wont and they haven't you can keep on going to coms bm100
Buzz Lightyear
The deal is dead in the water....THANK GOODNESS !!!
alphieblues
really hope this is a load of bollards.....dont need to wast 25 mill on a player that will be surplus in the summer when the big boys sign....
Deejayvu
£25million! when Robinho only cost £7million more! I hope that Blackburn's disgraceful behaviour over this transfer really comes back to bite them. Hopefully we'll have bigger fish to fry (or bid for) in the summer. Blackburn can rot.
fifthcolumnblue
so glad we did not sign him but am so gutted we did not sign anyone on the last day not even a sniff.
jigga1233
What happened? LOL many of you expecting Benzema,Villa or any other super star like in last moment.Well i told you already Robinho was a different case and I will be very eager to see who will be next superstar to join you if you remain out of the top 6 with no European football.I know who will be? It will be Augerro.
Saimon_blues
I'm surprised we let Jo go out on loan when we have nobody with any "physical presence." It seems that if you get the wrong side of Hughes he just sends you out on loan. So Ben Haim and Jo out... Nobody in today. But good news we rejected the offer for Johnson. If he can get back to full fitness quick then we should get him back in the team...
Sindbad
Why does money matter? I don't understand why everybody is bothered how much we spend, its not our money, if our owner is willing to spend let him why do people want to save his money?
mcfcthriller
cAN I SAY SOMETHING FROM BEING AN OUTSIDER.i AM REALLY SURPRISED YOU DIDN'T BUY ANYONE.i WAS ALMOST SURE No superstar will join you at last day in this window because no matter how big you offer who will they get in this short time because all of them are Elite clubs and they have to answer to fans. But no mid signings like RSC,or a CB.Hm I guess HUGHES in on his way and the management didn't want to spend on his wish lists.
Saimon_blues
Eh? According to the MUEN City have pulled out of any more bidding. If so a big HA! to Allardyce who blew it.
Johnny Baguette
Bet he's kicking himself now just thinking of who he could have brought in with the money if he hadn't been so greedy because come summer we will not be paying that sort of money for a player of RSC standard.
Doody
Er, Saimon_blues, the ADUG have handed Hughes nearly £50million to spend on players this window, so if he is on his way I'd like to see how much money they'll entrust to a manager they intend to keep! January is always a difficult time to do business, so iif the right players were not available at the right price then we didn't buy them. I'd lay money on Big Phil leaving Chelsea before Hughes leaves City anyway.
fifthcolumnblue
Stupid! stupid! stupid! Why did we spend 4 weeks trying to sign a player that was never going to be sold?! Why do we want a striker who has scored 4 goals in 19 games this season?! Why did we let jo go?! We had 4 weeks to find a proven striker and we didnt. Despite having unlimited funds. Cook and hughes are "dumb and dumber" They have to go in the summer.
enzo city
fifthcolumnblueBoth will leave in summer. But Hughes may be early because if we are in top 4 and having a abre season I am sure he will be with us.We don't have that money any more to sack and pay heavy price.U have and u will sack him
Saimon_blues
fifthcolumnblue nearly £50million! Many of your fans(enzo city) saying unlimited funds and how some of your fans were expecting a lst day shock big star signing(Like Robinho) with that amount of money!!!!!!
Saimon_blues
Please please please please will RSC phone me personally and tell me he's staying at Blackburn. Or text me, I don't mind.
kennyclementstache
Let me get this right.... Large Sam "Santa Cruz is going nowhere". B/burn board "Certainly Large Sam, nowhere". B/burn board (on deadline day) "He's yours for 25M City". City "***** Off!". Large Sam "Thanks for backing me board". B/burn board "Err...Yes Large Sam, we did!".
RobsonGreensleeves
Go easy on us on saturday fellas lol
TimBoro
Guys, Are there good striker can play with us in the UEFA Cup?!
city 81
No city 81 we have just loaned him out to the Toffeemen.
alphieblues
alphieblues :)) , Ok what about Boj & Benj, Whan they will return?!! I dont know why our player Injuries take long time, I think we should sign a new Doctor & Send the present Doctor in loan to the United Nations.
city 81
What matter of Jo !! Every time he said he Delighted, Why he try to feel us he was in prison !! Or maybe he not know any other word in English language except this word, yes maybe Robinho learn him : any one ask you say I am delighted. :))
city 81
Santa deal dead in the water? Or did Hughes finally get his man......Thoughts on whether he would improve your team and results?
wright8
I for one am relived this is done and dusted. I doubt he will ever play for MCFC. City's image of "ruining football" appears to have slipped off the back pages!!
Johnny Baguette
Q: Why City not make Protest to FA to cancel Dunne red card, Becouse Bosengwa not punish & He beat was more dangers than Dunne Beaten?!!!!!!!!!
city 81
Boswenga wasn't punished because it wasn't spotted by the Ref. Un fortunately Dunney's offence was right under the ref's nose. The Boj & Benji are reported as being two to three weeks away.
alphieblues
Thank you alphie, what about Johnson & Petrov ?!
city 81
Jonno is a complete mystery but having turned down £8 million for him yesterday must mean that he is on his way back. Although they say Petrov will be back later in the season, I have my doubts, just hope I am wrong.
alphieblues
You should have concentrated on Santa Cruz and forgot about Bellamy
Tiny T
Tiny T ...The trouble is we concentrated TOO much on RSC and ignored other better options for half the money.....
alphieblues
City 81 both Petrov and Johnson are still injured(Johnson broke down in training again whilst they were in Tenerife) and may not play again this season.
Buzz Lightyear
He tried to get Bendtner, but don't know why he went to arsenal for a look, I am sure he could have had podolski, but Sparky is looking for a target man and he didn't fit the bill. In that case he could have gone to pompey for crouch and done a swap with Benjani.
Buzz Lightyear
Buzz, Really this is bad news .. I'm sad for Johnson, and about podolski & Crouch, You will not benefit from them in the uefa, I think MH think in RSC becouse he allowed to play in uefa.
