Kinnear Disappointed In Not Capturing Johnson

Google language translator

Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear made it clear during Thursday's press conference that he was left disappointed after failing to capture the signing of Manchester City midfielder, Michael Johnson.

An official bid was tabled for Johnson but the Toon boss was left empty handed after City declined Newcastle's offer.

Kinnear said...

'At one stage, we thought we had Johnson then the goalposts were moved. We waited and waited and waited and the clock was running down.'

'We did not get a (City) reply until an hour before the deadline, even though we put in what we considered a decent offer.'

hit the road jack(or joe) we dont sell our best young players, especially to a club like your who will either destroy him as a prospect or keep him in the treatment room for the best part of his prime

Understand he broke down in training again last week.

Why would any player in their right (or even wrong) mind want to leave the world's richest club for the shambles that is Newcastle? Get real Kinnear, you arenot exactlly the biggest pull as a manager now eare you?

Strange whats happening with johnson. Hes clearly injured and shows no sign of improvement. But clubs are bidding over the odds for player who doesnt look he will play again this season or at all under hughes. The pair dislike each other and johnson enjoys publife too much. Newcastle can dream on, johnson isnt as thick as barton.
